Sydney Medical is internationally recognised for research and teaching in health and medicine. With formal links to more than 50 hospitals and health care facilities across New South Wales, Sydney is Australia's longest established medical school, offering outstanding opportunities for academics and students to participate in sector-leading practices in education, research and clinical care. We are seeking to appoint an outstanding academic medical practitioner as Professor or Associate Professor in Adolescent Medicine. This position will lead the teaching and research program in Adolescent Health in the Sydney Medical School from the Children's Hospital at Westmead Clinical School and contribute to the wider field of Adolescent Health across the Faculty and University. The position requires a highly motivated individual with strong leadership skills who is passionate about improving adolescent health through research, education and clinical care. The Associate Professor/Professor reports to the Head of Children's Hospital at Westmead Clinical School of Sydney Medical School for their academic duties. The successful applicant will also provide clinical care in adolescent health through a separate NSW Health appointment with SCHN (CHW) reporting to the relevant head of clinical department. About you (Skills, capabilities and experience) The below specifies the essential and desirable criteria for appointment at Level E (Professor). Applications for appointment at Level D (Associate Professor) will be considered from outstanding candidates who do not completely fulfil all criteria to the level specified. The level of appointment (Professor or Associate Professor) will be determined during the selection process, based on experience and track record. The successful applicant must be a medical practitioner registered or eligible to be registered in Australia with APHRA, and with skills comparable to an Australian trained subspecialist practicing in Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine (AYAM) as recognised by the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. They must have an international reputation as an authority in Adolescent Health or related area of expertise with a supporting research profile including competitive research grants, publications and evidence of recognition within the broader research community. The Associate Professor/Professor in Adolescent Medicine will have a distinguished record of university scholarly teaching excellence as evidenced through successful student outcomes, demonstrated impact on student learning, recognition through awards/prizes and innovation including experience in supervising and supporting Higher Degree by Research students. They will also have the ability to contribute to the development of a culture of excellence in medical education and research that is underpinned by evidence based practice. Term and remuneration The successful candidate will be offered a continuing position, subject to completion of a satisfactory probation period and confirmation period with agreed performance. Bachelor of Fine Art (Honours) The Bachelor of Fine Art (Honours) is an intensive one-year course designed for graduates of the BFA who are ready to deepen their studio practice and expand their academic and professional capabilities. This course is ideal for emerging artists who want to refine their practice, build industry connections, and prepare for postgraduate study or professional opportunities in the creative sector. Master of Fine Art (MFA)* The MFA is a two-year full-time research degree designed for graduates who seek to develop a higher level of specialised knowledge and further their professional expertise and advanced research within their studio practice. Candidates develop an individual research project supported by supervisors relevant to their areas of interest. Doctor of Fine Art (DFA) The three-year DFA degree is a practice-based professional doctorate that provides a platform for integrating professional expertise and scholarly enquiry within the visual arts. The Full-time Head of Sculpture works with the other Heads of Departments and Heads of Programs to deliver academic and research support to students.
