Beijing Normal – Hong Kong Baptist University (BNBU) now invites candidates for the following position which is expected to be filled in September 2026: Professor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor in Media and Communication (Ref: FHSS260403 Job Description The Department of Communication at BNBU invites applications from student-centered scholar-practitioners broadly trained in one or more of the following fields: 1) communication theory; 2) AI-centered approaches to media studies; and 3) media production. There are opportunities to develop innovative pedagogy and collaborative research. Job Requirement All applicants should hold a PhD degree in Media and Communications with a commensurable research profile. Other requirements include a firm commitment to teaching and tutoring students as well as engaging in theory-based qualitative or quantitative research. Teaching responsibilities may include courses related to communication theories, research methods, video production, graphic design, and others of the applicant’s own interests. Research and practical experience in AI and digital media-related areas will be an added asset. Preference will be given to candidates who can undertake original research leading to high-quality outcomes. Job Description SCHOOL OF CREATIVE ARTS ACADEMY OF VISUAL ARTS Part-time Lecturer (25260664) The Academy of Visual Arts is the first-of-its-kind local institution in delivering Arts and Technology education, which is looking for Part-time Lecturer(s) to teach the course(s) at undergraduate level in the following areas: Unreal VR technology Digital media and fabrication Creative computation Any other related disciplines The ideal candidate should hold a master’s degree or above in related disciplines, with 3 years of experience in creative industries with aspects of content development, budgeting, licensing, administration, marketing, or audience engagement, preferably with teaching experience at the university level. A good command of English and Chinese, excellent communication skills, and a strong sense of responsibility are required. Duties may also include supervision of students, marking of examination papers, and any other work as assigned by the Programme Director and Director of the Academy. The initial appointment will be offered on a part-time basis commencing Sep 2026. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to performance review and course availability. Technical Manager (Finance) in the Department of Finance The Technical Manager (Finance) will provide support to researchers in assessing the feasibility and logistics of running their papers or in collecting primary as well as secondary data. The Technical Manager will help acquire and maintain servers for digital data infrastructure and also support researchers in accessing and using university resources efficiently, e.g., preparing customised data sets for secondary analysis or help onboarding researchers to high-performance financial computing facilities. The role holder will explore potential for linkages to other research and data hubs on the administrative and programme levels on a regular basis. We are also advertising a similar role which requires Primary Education knowledge. Both positions will be based on the Tauranga campus and will work closely with our Hamilton team. In this pivotal role, you will lead the coordination and delivery of professional experience placements, working closely with schools, academic staff, and student teachers. You will ensure high-quality, research-informed professional experiences that meet Teaching Council requirements and support student success. You will play a key role in building and maintaining strong relationships with school partners, coordinating placements and visiting lecturers, contributing to programme development, and supporting the recruitment and selection of future teacher candidates. You will also contribute to teaching within Initial Teacher Education programmes. This is a varied and rewarding role for someone passionate about teacher education, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Salary will be in the range of $81,389 to $114,226 per year pro-rata based on skills, knowledge and experience brought to the position.
