The role This is an exciting opportunity to join i-MOBYL, a European consortium project exploring how young adolescents (aged 11-15 years) can be empowered to travel more actively, independently, and sustainably in their everyday lives. This Research Fellow role is offered at 0.8 FTE for two years. Working with Dr. Eleanor Ratcliffe and an international consortium of academics, practitioners, and community partners, you will: Coordinate a Living Lab based in north-west Guildford, with a local secondary school and municipal partner; and Lead mixed-methods research to assess the acceptability, feasibility, and potential impacts of mobility interventions. The role combines community engagement and co-design, data collection and analysis, collaboration with local and international stakeholders, and the dissemination of findings through academic and non-academic outputs. You will be working with project partners across the Netherlands, France, Austria, Switzerland, and the UK. As a postdoctoral researcher you will join Surrey's Environmental Psychology Research Group (EPRG), an internationally-renowned centre for teaching and research on environmental psychology that has been active since the 1970s. The EPRG provides a supportive and dynamic setting for the professional development of early-career researchers, and the opportunity to collaborate with world leaders in environmental psychology. Description The Center for Astrophysics and Space Science (CASS) at NYUAD is looking to appoint new independent fellows working in one (or more) of the following center's research fields Extrasolar Planets Galactic Astrophysics (including compact objects) Extragalactic Astrophysics and Cosmology Astroparticle Physics (Dark Matter searches, gamma-ray spectroscopy, gravitational waves) The center currently consists of eight faculty members and more than 25 researchers and PhD students. The Center possesses the unique possibility to investigate fundamental questions in astrophysics, astroparticle physics, and planetary physics from several points of view, with the expertise of its members ranging from collecting and analyzing state-of-the-art data on the nature of the visible and invisible matter in the Universe, to detailed theoretical and numerical studies from planets to galaxies, and linking them together cohesively. We expect successful applicants to work towards improving the collaborations and connections among the different areas. The center fellows will have access to a 70,000-core Infiniband Cluster (Jubail) dedicated to the science division, several GPU-based clusters at NYUAD, and other supercomputer facilities through the CASS network. NYUAD also has guaranteed observing time on the Green Bank Telescope, the Very Long Baseline Array, and Las Cumbres Observatory, and is a participant in SDSS-V. Applicants should have a PhD in astronomy, astrophysics, physics, or a closely related field. The appointment will be for an initial period of two years with a likely extension to a total of three years. CASS fellows will have dedicated funds for traveling, computing, publications, etc. The preferred starting date is Fall of 2026. We are looking for a Climbing Duty Officer to join the team covering all our opening hours, including weekday evenings and weekends. If you have an upbeat, energetic personality, you will find yourself in good company at Surrey Summit. As a Climbing Duty Officer, you will run sessions across all ages and ability levels, including our NICAS and Squad programmes and GCSE PE sessions for school groups. You will also be booking customers onto these sessions, all as part of a dedicated team of Instructors, receptionists and other Duty Officers. You will have regular opportunities for route setting on our roped and boulder walls. You will be a point of escalation for day-to-day problems the freelance team members might face, reporting back to the Climbing Duty Supervisor should anything require further escalation. Furthermore, you will oversee a specific area of responsibility tailored to your skillset to grow and develop under the guidance of the Climbing Duty Supervisor.
