The Government of Punjab recently established Kohsar University in 2020. The university currently operates with four campuses, situated at Punjab House, Boys Campus-Jhika Gali near Kashmir Point, Girls Campus near GPO Mall Road, and Resource Centre Murree at Kashmir Point. Kohsar University is a part of the Punjab Higher Education Commission's plan to establish higher-education institutions in applied sciences. The government intends to develop a pool of high-quality researchers and technicians in various fields, including science, technology and allied industries. Kohsar University Murree currently operates three faculties: faculty of applied sciences and computing, faculty of biomedical and life sciences, and faculty of management, humanities and social sciences. The university focuses on offering degree programmes and short diploma and certification programmes that address real-life problems in areas including environmental pollution, pathogen surveillance, climate mitigation, tourism and hospitality, disaster management, horticulture and food security. Kohsar University Murree also offers programmes in digital world/computer sciences, humanities, social sciences, health, environmental sciences, precision agriculture, and art and design. The university actively promotes science, technology, engineering and mathematics education, and engages with students to ensure that it has a positive impact on society and the environment.

An enthusiastic and creative team of medical educators are working within the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences to develop a new School of Medicine, and we are looking for a Lead for Clinical Skills to join the team at this exciting time. The successful candidate will have a key role leading and coordinating the four-year longitudinal theme of Clinical Skills, including practical procedures, for the University of Surrey Medical Programme. Our innovative programme aims to produce a new type of doctor - excellent and holistic clinical leaders who can drive change, delivering integrated and technologically advanced healthcare for their patients and communities. The programme will have a particular emphasis on digital and communication health technology (a research strength at Surrey), as well as a ‘One Health’ ethos that promotes understanding of a ‘whole society’ approach to health and builds on our aims to develop truly interprofessional training. The role The post holder will work alongside the Dean and Course Director to lead and coordinate our longitudinal clinical skills theme for the medical programme, ensuring that our students are trained to the highest standards in all domains of clinical skills. You will support the Director of Assessment in the design and delivery of the MLA CPSA and MLA Practical Skills and Procedures portfolio and will take the lead in clinical skills and communication skills teaching, as well as the teaching and learning of practical procedures.  The post-holder will support Surrey medical students by delivering high quality large and small group teaching, including case-based learning, team-based learning, special study units and clinical and communication skills sessions. In addition, we would expect the post holder to contribute to our admissions process, to standard setting, writing knowledge test questions and OSCEs, and to support OSCE examining. About you To join us at this exciting time, you’ll need to be a forward-looking individual with a ‘can do’ attitude and the ambition to drive innovation in medical education, with particular expertise in clinical skills. You’ll have full registration with the GMC and a higher professional qualification (usually a doctoral degree or equivalent).  In addition to these qualifications, you’ll have experience of providing high quality teaching and will be able to demonstrate a significant academic publication record and evidence of scholarly contributions to conferences, professional meetings, and societies. An excellent communicator and leader, you’ll have the ability to use tact, diplomacy, and empathy to build effective working relationships at all levels and influence, persuade and negotiate effectively. The Lawyer, Intellectual Property, Research and Commercial Law will provide clear, practical and timely legal advice to primarily support the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) and the Research Portfolio progress the University's research and commercialisation activities. Working closely with stakeholders across the Research Portfolio-including Pre-Award and Pipeline, Post-Award (Grants and Contracts), Clinical Trial Contracts, Commercialisation and Investments-the successful candidate will manage and support senior lawyers with a diverse range of matters involving the review, drafting and negotiation of research and commercial agreements, support for strategic projects, commercialisation initiatives, and other legal issues as they arise. Research Fellow, Optoelectronics Research Centre

You will join the vibrant Flexible Nanoelectronics team, led by Prof Dimitra Georgiadou within SEMS group in the School of Electronics and Computer Science (ECS) at the University of Southampton. You will work in close collaboration with the Silicon Photonics group and Prof Frederic Gardes’ team at the Optoelectronics Research Centre. In the EPSRC-funded “Retinomorphic nanoscale synapses’ integration with silicon nitride photonic structures” (NANORETINA) project you will develop optoelectronic arrays, based on advanced photoactive materials, such as organic, perovskites and two-dimensional semiconductors, like transition metal dichalcogenides, acting as artificial neurons and/or synapses. These will be integrated on a silicon nitride photonic platform that routes and manipulates light. You will demonstrate adaptive, light-driven networks that combine sensing, memory, and computation. The role is well suited to candidates who wish to further develop their expertise in neuromorphic technologies and optoelectronics within a supportive and well-resourced research environment. You will work in the state-of-the-art clean rooms of the Optoelectronics Research Centre. You will receive extensive training and support from the current users for all facilities, as you develop the skills necessary for the job. Prior experience on every tool is not required. You will be invited to travel to project meetings and dissemination activities across the UK and overseas, and perform short stays at academic partners (e.g., University of Strathclyde, Aston University), assisting junior research staff and planning and participating in group outreach activities. Reasonable adjustments will be made to support candidates for whom travel may present challenges. The role includes extensive leadership training and transferrable skills development that will allow you to progress from device and tool specialist to neuromorphic computing leader. You will be offered career development opportunities via online courses and workshop attendance through the ECS Centre for Neuromorphic Technologies (CeNT) and UKRI Multidisciplinary Centre for Neuromorphic Systems and Computing (NeuroSYNC) networks. Essential Requirements: Experience in either photonic structures or optoelectronic device fabrication and characterisation. Strong experimental skills in at least one of: nanofabrication, electronics, materials development and processing, or thin-film characterisation. Ability to work collaboratively within interdisciplinary research teams. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Desirable Requirements: Prior experience with neuromorphic computing, photodetectors and/or memristive devices and arrays. Experience in working with photoactive materials, such as organic, perovskites or two-dimensional semiconductors. Experience in contributing to academic publications and funding proposals.
