Kochi University of Technology is a public university founded in 1997. The university is located in the beautiful city of Tosa Yamada, Kohimarama in Japan. Popularly known as the KUT, the university offers a wide range of academic programmes to both international and domestic students. Programmes range from economics to system engineering among many others covering science and technology. It is a research-oriented university, which hosts a substantial number of students and scholars from across the world. Kochi University of Technology is a renowned research institution in the region and comprises of several research centres like the Advanced Robotics Research Centre, Centre of Nanotechnology, Research Centre for Brain Communication, Materials Design Centre and Laboratory for Construction Materials in a Sustainable Society. In view of realising its mission of becoming a top-class research university, Kochi University of Technology has established partnerships with top universities including the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Stanford University, Indian Institute Technology, Bandung Institute of Technology and Jilin University. The university has also been offering grants to students to pursue research projects in various fields. Kochi University of Technology boasts of two beautiful campuses: The Kami Campus and the Elkokuji Campus. As a member of the School Executive, the Head will work closely with the Dean and senior leaders to deliver the School's strategic plans at Department level, strengthen the staff experience, and build a high-performing academic community. With greater autonomy and local decision-making moving to Departments, this role will play a key part in identifying investment priorities, driving innovation in teaching and research, managing risk, and delivering against agreed KPIs. Established in April 2024, the Biomedical Engineering Department is a growing and strategically important area for RMIT. The School is seeking a leader who can develop and deliver a bold vision for the discipline, deepen collaboration with the School of Health and Biosciences, and expand partnerships in advanced manufacturing and materials science. Supported by investment from the School and STEM College, this is an opportunity to shape the next stage of Biomedical Engineering at RMIT. To be successful in this position, you'll have: Strong academic leadership and management skills with demonstrated ability to lead teams and deliver on strategic objectives. Established research record in biomedical engineering at the national level and an internationally recognised research track record through the attraction of external funding with demonstrated capacity to lead and promote excellence in research. Our research staff will have the opportunity to be equipped with applied research skill sets that are relevant to industry demands while working on research projects in SIT. The researcher will be part of the team of the MCCS NATURE Project (https://www.nparks.gov.sg/Cuge/Programmes-Schemes/Research%20Programmes/MCCS%20Programme). The primary role involves developing and validating CFD models to study wave attenuation by mangroves, seagrass, and coral. Responsibilities include calibrating simulations with experimental data, analyzing shear coefficients and drag forces, and contributing to interdisciplinary research on coastal protection, with an emphasis on delivering accurate and impactful modeling insights. Key Responsibilities Participate in and manage the research project with Principal Investigator (PI), Co-PI and the research team members to ensure all project deliverables are met. Undertake these responsibilities in the project: 1. Wave Stochastic Analysis and Hydrodynamics Conduct advanced stochastic analysis of wave environments to evaluate the performance of floating structures.  Analyze hydrodynamic behavior of floating breakwaters under varied sea conditions. 2. CFD and Finite Element Modeling Perform Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations to optimize the design and performance of floating breakwaters. Develop finite element models for stability assessment, structural integrity, and dynamic response of floating systems. 3. Connector Design Design and analyze mechanical connectors for the integration of multi-purpose floating breakwater systems, ensuring structural stability and durability. 4. Design and Integration Develop innovative designs for floating breakwaters that integrate wave energy converters (WECs), tidal energy systems, and solar energy platforms. Optimize design configurations to maximize energy harnessing and wave attenuation. 5. Experimental Testing Plan and conduct physical model tests in wave flumes or basins to validate computational models. Analyze experimental data to improve and validate the floating breakwater design. 6. Research Documentation and Dissemination: Prepare technical reports, research papers, and presentations to disseminate findings to academic and industry stakeholders. Contribute to project proposals and progress updates for funding agencies. Carry out Risk Assessment, and ensure compliance with Work, Safety and Health Regulations. 7. Project Management Support: Ensure timely execution of project milestones Coordinate with external collaborators and manage data-sharing protocols. Work independently, as well as within a team, to ensure proper operation and maintenance of equipment. Job Requirements PhD/Master’s in Naval Architecture, Ocean Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field. Proficiency in hydrodynamic modeling tools (e.g., ANSYS AQWA, OrcaFlex) and finite element analysis software (e.g., Abaqus, ANSYS). Experience with stability and mooring system design. Strong analytical skills and familiarity with data collection instruments and techniques. Excellent communication and report-writing abilities. Good understanding of industry standard will be an advantage Ability to work independently and in teams in both lab and field environments. Job Description We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled postdoctoral researcher in Fertilizer Science to join our research team at CBS, Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P), Benguerir, Morocco The candidate will play a key role in advancing applied research related to the development, characterization, and evaluation of innovative fertilizer formulations. The overall objective is to develop efficient fertilizer products designed to improve nutrient availability, nutrient-use efficiency, soil fertility, and crop performance under relevant agricultural conditions. As a successful candidate, you will be actively involved in multidisciplinary research activities including fertilizer formulation, physicochemical characterization, laboratory testing, greenhouse experiments, and agronomic validation. Key Responsibilities Develop and formulate new simple and complex fertilizer products Contribute to the optimization of fertilizer formulations to improve nutrient stability, homogeneity, physical quality, and agronomic efficiency. Characterize produced fertilizer formulations using physicochemical and analytical tools to assess their structure, composition, stability, and performance. Evaluate the physical quality of fertilizer products Analyze the chemical composition of raw materials, intermediate products, and final fertilizer formulations. Conduct laboratory and greenhouse experiments to assess fertilizer performance under controlled and relevant conditions. Evaluate plant growth responses, biomass production, root development, nutrient uptake, and mineral nutrition following fertilizer application. Contribute to soil and plant analyses to assess nutrient availability and fertilizer efficiency. Design experimental protocols, supervise trials, collect data, and perform statistical analysis of experimental results. Communicate research progress, technical challenges, and key results to the project team through reports, presentations, and regular meetings. Prepare scientific reports, technical deliverables, peer-reviewed publications, conference communications, and patent-related documents. Contribute to collaborative research activities with internal and external partners and support the coordination of project tasks. Qualifications  Ph.D. in Agronomy, Plant sciences, Soil Science, or a related field. Strong background in fertilizer formulation, plant nutrition, soil fertility, or agronomic evaluation of fertilizing products. Experience in designing, developing, and characterizing simple or complex fertilizer formulations. Good knowledge of techniques used to evaluate the physicochemical properties and physical quality of fertilizers. Ability to analyze the chemical composition of raw materials and finished products. Experience in planning, conducting, and analyzing laboratory, greenhouse, or field experiments. Good understanding of soil-plant-fertilizer interactions and nutrient-use efficiency. Experience with organo-mineral fertilizers, biostimulants, micronutrient formulations, or sustainable crop nutrition strategies would be considered an asset.
