King’s College London (KCL) is one of the two founding colleges of the University of London, the sister college of University College London. Established in 1829 by King George IV and the Duke of Wellington, the then Prime Minister, it is the fourth oldest university in England.

KCL is now the largest healthcare learning centre in Europe, incorporating three teaching hospitals and providing a home to more than 27,000 students (including nearly 10,500 postgraduates) from 150 countries who also benefit from its strengths in law, the humanities and social sciences.

The university’s main site is on the Strand, in the heart of London, on the north bank of the River Thames, with another four campuses located at Guy’s Hospital, St Thomas’ Hospital, and in Waterloo and Denmark Hill.

KCL is a major research university. In the 2014 Research Excellence Framework, it was ranked 6th nationally in the ‘power’ ranking, which takes into account the quality and quantity of research activity, and ranks among the top institutions in the THE World University Rankings.

Twelve Nobel Prize winners are associated with King's, including Maurice Wilkins who discovered the structure of DNA, and Archbishop Desmond Tutu (a KCL alumnus), awarded the Nobel Prize for Peace in recognition of his work in opposing South Africa's apartheid regime.

Other notable alumni include Romantic poet John Keats, the founder of modern nursing Florence Nightingale and the eminent physicist Professor Peter Higgs. 

With over 150 partner institutions, KCL offers study abroad programmes with a wide range of HE institutions globally, from Humboldt University in Berlin and the Paris-Sorbonne in France, to the Universities of California, Hong Kong, São Paulo and many more.

Description The Center for Sand Hazards and Opportunities in Resilience, Energy, and Sustainability (SHORES) and the Division of Engineering (Civil & Urban Engineering) seeks to recruit a Post-doctoral Associate to work on a broader field of geotechnical engineering.  Required Qualifications: A successful applicant must have a PhD in Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field with a focus on one or more of the following: Centrifuge experimental testing (design, execution, and data interpretation) Numerical modeling and simulation to complement physical experiments Preferred) Proficiency in CAD and modeling tools such as SolidWorks for experimental design and apparatus development Additional background in areas such as artificial intelligence applications in geotechnics, geoenvironmental engineering, geohazards risk assessment, or energy geotechnics will be considered an asset.  Research Project: The successful candidate will lead a research project focused on advancing the design, testing, and analysis of resilient and sustainable geotechnical systems using centrifuge modeling. The work will bridge advanced experimental testing with complementary numerical simulation to generate insights for infrastructure and energy applications. The Post-doctoral Associate will be expected to: Design, implement, and analyze centrifuge experiments. Integrate findings with numerical models for validation and deeper interpretation. Develop innovative experimental apparatus (SolidWorks proficiency is a plus). Disseminate results through high-quality publications in reputable journals. Context We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled postdoctoral researcher with a strong background in Artificial Intelligence (AI), particularly in the development and application of Large Language Models (LLMs), to join our team working on predictive maintenance solutions. Develop and fine-tune LLMs to analyze and interpret unstructured data (e.g., maintenance logs, sensor data, technical reports) for predictive insights Collaborate with domain experts to integrate LLM-based solutions into predictive maintenance workflows. Explore the use of LLMs for anomaly detection, failure prediction, and optimization of maintenance schedules. Publish high-impact research in top-tier conferences and journals at the intersection of AI, NLP, and industrial applications. Contribute to the development of scalable and interpretable AI tools for real-world deployment. Qualifications: A PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, NLP, or a related field, with a thesis focused on AI, particularly LLMs. Strong publication record in top AI/ML/NLP conferences (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, ACL, EMNLP, etc.). Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, and experience with deep learning frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or JAX. In-depth understanding of transformer architectures, attention mechanisms, and fine tuning techniques for LLMs. Experience with time-series data, anomaly detection, or predictive maintenance is a strong plus. Familiarity with industrial datasets and domain-specific challenges is desirable. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Job description: African Sustainable Agriculture Research Institute (ASARI) at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) is seeking applications for a Postdoctoral researcher in the field of computational biotechnology and modelling/simulation of bioreactor under aerobic and/or anaerobic treatment of biomass. Candidates should hold a PhD degree with professional experience in biotechnology, process engineering, modelling, and simulation of bioreactor. The postdoctoral researcher will join a multidisciplinary and will contribute to the development of comprehensive computational modules that simulate the behavior and the performances of bioreactor to produce high added value product. Ability to engage professionally with a diverse population of faculty, staff, and students across the university and externally is required. Evidence of research excellence is expected. Strong French and English communication skills, both verbal and written, are required. Description The Division of Engineering and the Center for Interacting Urban Networks (CITIES) at New York University Abu Dhabi are inviting applications for a Post-Doctoral Associate to join the research group of Prof. Monica Menendez. The group focuses on monitoring, modeling, and controlling the operations of multimodal transportation systems. Particular attention is paid to new vehicle technologies and data sources; as well as the combination of traditional traffic flow theory concepts with new empirically derived models and data science ideas.
