Full-Time | Continuing Higher Education Officer Level 8 – Final salary will be commensurate with experience Location: Bedford Park / Kaurna Country View Position Description About the Role The Senior Security Operations Engineer is responsible for implementing cyber security initiatives across the University and carrying out and implementing specialised cyber security controls, services, and activities, along with supporting the research and evaluation of procedural and technical controls and solutions that can be applied to provide security to the University’s IT networks and systems. You will work closely with other practitioners and teams to ensure the ongoing security and effectiveness of the University’s network and system assets, and the stable and continuous operation of the University’s mission-critical systems and applications. Key position responsibilities include: Configuring, deploying and maintaining new and existing security platforms, including email filtering, firewall, intrusion prevention/detection systems, and VPN and host protection systems. Managing the ongoing application of the IDS risk register, identifying and ensuring the management of key risks that may impact on the security of the University’s systems and networks. Supporting with identifying technological trends and developing reports as necessary to keep IDS management apprised of information security threats and planned equipment or software changes that could impact system and network security and availability. Providing support on security matters relating to disaster recovery and business continuity, ensuring that disaster recovery plans and business continuity plans appropriately address security requirements in maintaining the provision of services. Identifying, managing and mitigating risks related to the activities being undertaken by the role in line with IDS and Flinders University policies and procedures. A more comprehensive list of duties is available from the Position Description About You As this is a senior role, you will be expected to possess high level strategic thinking, planning and analytical skills to support outcomes and meet strategic goals and can perform system administration and/or network management roles at journeyman or higher practitioner levels. You have a broad understanding of IT security in the context of higher education environment, with particular reference to systems, networks and applications that are used and how these relate to attaining a good cybersecurity posture and are experienced in agile ways of working. With exemplary interpersonal influence and demonstrated ability to negotiate and communicate effectively with staff and customers across a diverse organisation particularly during the design, management and implementation of customer solutions, your relationship management skills are second to none.  An industry recognized security certification, for example CISSP, CISM, CISA, SSCP, CEH, CRISC, GIAC or equivalent is advantageous About Information and Digital Services  Information and Digital Services (IDS) are a pivotal resource of the University, providing information and digital technology services and support to the Flinders University staff and student community. The School of Medicine are seeking a dynamic and highly motivated lecturer to be responsible for coordinating and leading key teaching activities in the Bachelor of Medical Studies/Doctor of Medicine Program (BMD), primarily within Year 3. In this program, students participate in multiple teaching activities including attending clinical placements in community and hospital settings, and undertaking Scenario Based Learning (SBL). SBL is a group-based activity that supports application of student knowledge and promotes content integration across the various curriculum domains. These domains are defined by the Australian Medical Council and are science and scholarship, professionalism and leadership, clinical practice and health and society. Work that matters In this Lecturer role, your primary responsibilities will involve Course Coordination and Scenario-Based Learning, alongside other teaching and learning roles. In semester 2, you will co-coordinate the Transition to Clinical Studies course, engaging in direct teaching, providing leadership to a broad range of academic staff, and playing a key role in student assessments. In semester 1, you will lead delivery of SBL in year 3, providing guidance to a team of casual tutors from both clinical and non-clinical backgrounds to deliver SBL sessions on a Monday and Thursday. The role also includes curriculum review and development, in conjunction with colleagues and curriculum leads. In order to meet the needs of this role, you will possess clinical experience which will allow you to integrate concepts from across the curriculum and facilitate small and large group discussion. You will also need to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, as an essential aspect of this role will be to liaise with, and support, casual tutors, academics and clinical titleholders.
