You will work with Ang McGaughran on the Tāwhia Te Mana Fellowship project, Decoding Invasion Success. Salary will be in the range of $92,603 to $101,889 per year, pro-rata based on skills, knowledge and experience brought to the position. B1 lit. b (postdoc) Limited until: 30.06.2030 Reference no.: 5770 The new Core Facility NexusSoSci is being established at the Faculty of Social Sciences. NexusSoSci provides the infrastructural and technical foundations for a central service and competence center for social science research. It brings together qualitative and quantitative methodological expertise in data collection, data preparation, and data analysis. The three Senior scientists and the coordinator employed in the facility play a key role in developing the digital, material, and spatial infrastructures that supports research projects, training, and networking activities. The position will initially be based at the Dean’s Office of the Faculty of Social Sciences and then transferred to a subunit following a positive evaluation. We intend to fill the position of Senior Scientist for the Online-Panel Lab from 1st of July onwards, but latest by 01 September 2026. The position is initially limited to four years. Conversion to a permanent position is generally possible, contingent on a positive evaluation and secured funding for the Core Facility. Your personal sphere of influence: The Online Panel Lab within NexusSoSci serves as the central social science service and competence center for quantitative individual-level data collections, operating an online panel recruited through random samples drawn from the Central Population Register. The Senior Scientist plays a key role by (1) establishing and advancing long-term, scientifically robust data collection via an online panel; (2) providing scientific advice on the planning of research projects; and (3) leading training and networking activities. The Role and the Department Research and Innovation Services (RIS) provides guidance, expert advice and hands-on support for all aspects of research and research-related work, including securing funding, working with partners, undertaking knowledge exchange, demonstrating impact, commercialising outputs, ensuring good research practice and supporting professional development. This post sits within the Policy, Systems and Performance team in Research & Innovation Services (RIS). The team is responsible for the University's research information management systems, the overall governance and ethical framework for both funded and unfunded research & research related activities across the institution, support for institutional strategy development and the compilation of relevant returns including HEBCI, KEF, KEC and REF , as well as management information reporting relating to university research and knowledge exchange (RKE) activities. As Research Systems and Information Officer you will contribute to the implementation and development of the RIS RKE systems as well as training and communications about these systems across the University. Current research systems include Worktribe Research Management, Infonetica Ethics RM, and Dynamics CRM. You will contribute to ensuring our research systems are configured in the most optimal and user-friendly way and that any associated training and communications will be delivered in a clear, concise and timely manner.
