We seek high calibre highly motivated post-doctoral researchers to join our electronic textiles research program. The positions are funded by the EU (European Union) project: SoftIE – Materials for Sustainable Soft Technologies of Interconnected E-textiles, tackling a fundamental challenge; the lack of a robust connection and interconnects. You will be based in the School of Electronics and Computer Science (ECS) and be part of an EU project consortia developing new materials and processes to achieve sustainable interconnected e-textile systems. You will work in the Printed Electronics and Materials Laboratory and other facilities. Comprehensive training and support will be provided by experienced users, enabling you to develop the skills necessary for the role. Prior experience with the equipment is not essential. You will be invited to travel to project meetings and dissemination activities across the UK and EU. We are seeking an outstanding Research Fellow to join an ambitious translational oncology programme focused on improving precision treatment approaches for patients with gastrointestinal cancers. This funded programme brings together laboratory scientists, clinicians, and molecular researchers to develop clinically relevant approaches for understanding therapeutic response and resistance in cancer. The post offers a rare opportunity to contribute to a highly translational initiative operating at the interface of discovery science and patient care. The successful candidate will play a central role in shaping experimental strategy, generating clinically relevant biological insights, and supporting the progression of the programme towards future clinical application. This is not a conventional postdoctoral role centred on a predefined set of experiments. The Vietnamese-German University (VGU) is seeking a highly qualified full-time lecturer in Mathematics. Candidates must hold a PhD in this field or a closely related field and have a strong background in research. Relevant international experience is of advantage. The successful candidate will become part of an international network of universities and research institutes. Teaching Responsibilities In the role of a lecturer, the successful candidate will teach mathematics courses in the Faculty of Engineering, mainly courses in the Sustainable Process Engineering (SPE). The expected workload for the in-class lecture conduction is 08 academic hours per week, totaling 240 academic hours per year (1 academic hour equals to 45 minutes). Teaching should reflect current research methods and results, and comprises lectures on the following modules: Linear Algebra and Calculus Advanced Calculus and Differential Equations Probability and Statistics Numerical Mathematics The named courses are subject to change upon realistic needs of the programs and joint agreement between the lecturer, relevant Academic Coordinators, and Dean/Vice Dean in charge of teaching. Courses may requires conducting relevant laboratory activities and/or advising student projects. The holder of this job is also responsible for supervising bachelor’s and master’s theses and mentoring PhD students. Research Responsibilities As a faculty member of a research-oriented university, the successful candidate is expected to significantly contribute to the scientific profile of VGU through innovation. This includes and is not limited to comprehensive activities in basic research as well as applied research in the fields of Mathematics. We seek candidates with a strong foundation in Numerical Analysis and Computational Mathematics. While expertise in a range of methods is valued, we particularly encourage applications from individuals with experience or demonstrated interest in one or more of the following areas: Numerical methods for differential equations (e.g., finite element methods, finite volume methods, or related discretization techniques). Computational modeling of complex systems, including physics-based or data-driven approaches.
