Your personal sphere of influence: The advertised position is located in the research section of interdisciplinary Gender Studies at the Department of Education of the Faculty of Philosophy and Education. The research section's main responsibilities lie within the area of teaching and research in Gender Studies. Your research is centered on the description, critical analysis, and scientific explanation of gendered phenomena in society and/or culture. Your subject area will include social or cultural phenomena, knowledge production and/or activism in movements and/or institutions. Your research is interdisciplinary. The position is part of the professorship “Gender Studies” (Assoc.-Prof. Dr. Sabine Grenz). The School of Engineering and Built Environment seeks to appoint a post-doctoral Research Fellow to work on a research project for 24 months funded by LEARN Logistics by Kuehne Foundation. This is part of a project in capacity building to improve higher education skills in Ethiopia and to establish regional universities as local powerhouses in research and teaching related to logistics and supply chain management. Your main duty will be carrying out joint research projects with Ethiopian academics, guest lecturing, academic-practice engagement projects, reciprocal research stays, curriculum review, and co-supervision for Ethiopian students. The duties will also seek to establish new ties between LJMU and universities in Ethiopia and potentially the wider region. You should hold a PhD degree and have an in-depth knowledge of logistics and supply chain management with direct application in Ethiopia where LEARN Logistics by Kuehne Foundation is seeking to strengthen the education experience for logistics and supply chain management students and faculty. In addition, you should have relevant experience in the local industrial and academic processes and customs. It would be desirable for candidates to have a network of contacts from the private and public sector to support data collection and information gathering for research activities. Previous participation in curricula design and review processes is beneficial. Experience in presenting results at meetings is essential. You should be able to work effectively as a team member with academics, industrial partners, and research students. Preferably, you should be fluent in Amharic and another local Ethiopian language. Full time, 2 years fixed term, located on the Camperdown Campus at the School of Chemistr Exciting opportunity to work at the interface of academia and industry with DuluxGroup Australia Base Salary, level A/B $113,400 - $121,054 p.a + 17% superannuation About the opportunity The School of Chemistry is currently seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Colloidal Science to work on a project funded by an Australian Research Council Linkage Project, in collaboration with industry partner DuluxGroup Australia, on nanostructured polymeric particles as paint additives. You will work under the mentorship of Prof Chiara Neto to achieve controlled assembly of polymer particles, which should lead to paint films that are high-performing, durable, and with long-lasting colour. The project team involves academics expert in functional coatings (Prof Neto), emulsion polymerisation (Dr Nguyen) and in self-assembly and scattering (Prof Warr). Your key responsibilities will be to: achieve controlled assembly of polymer nanoparticles characterise materials properties of the produced polymer films conduct literature reviews, present results to partners and write scientific manuscripts co-supervise research students in the group assist in lab management. The position is primarily focussed on the delivery of courses within the school’s undergraduate and postgraduate nursing or midwifery programs. You will work with guidance and direction from course coordinators.
