The Kazakh National Agrarian Research University was formed by the merger of the Alma-Ata Zoo-Veterinary Institute with the Kazakh Agrarian Institute.
It has six faculties and two departments. These include forestry and land resources, veterinary and zooengineering, engineering and technology, agrobiology, water research and information technlogy and the High School of Business and Law. There are departments of general education and physical education and sports. Each faculty has its own student residence.
It has strong international connections, offering 11 double-degree courses and with research groups like the Kazakh-German Institute for Ecosystems and Biodiversity, and the Kazakhstan-Korea Research Centre focussing on greenhouses.
Alumni include Aida Balayeva, Minister of Culture and Information, and mixed martial arts star Azat Maksum.

This is a new two year fixed term post within the Contracting Hub. The post holder will help ensure that the University's legal, financial and reputational interests are protected while supporting the effective delivery of research activity. The role includes line management of a Research Contracts Officer, providing guidance, day to day support and contributing to their ongoing professional development. The post holder reports to a Senior Research Contracts Manager and will work closely with colleagues across academic departments and central professional services, as well as external partners and funders. The role will include: Drafting, reviewing and negotiating research contracts, ensuring agreements are clear, accurate and aligned with University and funder requirements. About MediaFutures/ the position About MediaFutures MediaFutures is a Centre for Research-based Innovation (SFI) funded by the Research Council of Norway and hosted by the University of Bergen.
