You take over tasks e.g. as active participation in teaching as well as in research and publication projects. Our focus is on civil law. Your future tasks: You actively participate in research, teaching & administration, which means: Participation in research projects Participation in publications / scientific articles / lectures Participation in and independent teaching of courses in accordance with the provisions of the cllective bargaining agreement Student support Participation in the organization of meetings, conferences and symposia Participation in administration of the team, teaching, and research Completion of your dissertation agreement within 12-18 months is expected. Own scientific activities (especially the writing of a dissertation) are encouraged and supported. This is part of your personality: Completed diploma studies in law or master's degree in law (with specialization in civil law, if applicable). Above-average academic performance, especially in civil law andin the subsidiary subjects of private law IT skills (e.g. MS Office, various databases) Excellent knowledge of German and good written and spoken English. You are a team player with high social/communicative skills. lnterest in scientific work and European legal developments in private law including methodological references is expected. Nice to have: Publications or initial experience in scientific work and research methods Familiarity with university procedures and structures Experience in the field of event organization What we offer: The contract term for employment is 4 years. Initially limited to 1.5 years, the employment relationship is automatically extended to 4 years if the employer does not issue a non-renewal declaration within the first 12 months. Ref.: 532595 Work type: Full-time Department: School of Nursing (20800) Categories: Professoriate Staff Applications are invited for appointment as Professor/Associate Professor of Practice (several posts) in the School of Nursing (Ref.: 532595), to commence as soon as possible, on a two- to three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance. Fractional appointment may be considered for the suitable candidate. Applicants should possess a Registered Nurse qualification registrable with the Nursing Council of Hong Kong and a doctoral degree in Nursing or a related discipline, with local recognition and evidence of national or regional recognition of clinical excellence. They should also have substantial experience in teaching, training and/or curriculum development. The appointees are expected to play a key role in leading the School’s advanced clinical training and laboratory teaching programmes, pursuing new strategic directions for further development of clinical education within the School, etc. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of the gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary. Job Purpose The Professional Officers Division (POD) houses two Innovation Centres – Rapid Product Innovation and Development (RaPID) Centre and SIT-Poly Innovation Centre of Excellence (SPICE) Centre. The RaPID Centre aims to guide businesses in their innovation and value creation activities through rapid product development and sample production while the SPICE Centre aims to support local Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in their technology-driven transformation, innovation and talent development initiatives. These Innovation Centres house a dedicated pool of Professional Officers who come with specialised and deep technical skills acquired through extensive industry experience. Professional Officers work with industry partners to co-create commercially viable solutions. They deliver on projects that help industries and businesses to move up the innovation value chain. While working on these projects, Professional Officers will have the opportunity to be equipped with applied research skill sets that are relevant to industry demands. The success of these initiatives will bring about deeper collaboration with key industry stakeholders that will translate the industry engagement into more innovation projects with SIT. Key Responsibilities Lead or co-lead innovation projects with industry. Involve in customer engagements including gathering of systems requirements and writing project scope. Involve in the full development life cycle, i.e., design, development, and testing Generate technical proposals, design documents, test documents. Manage laboratories and equipment to support academic programmes and applied research. Carry out Risk Assessment, and ensure compliance with Work, Safety and Health Regulations. Job Requirements A degree in Computer Science or related Engineering discipline. Possessing a master’s degree, PhD degree and relevant certifications will be an added advantage. Experienced in developing machine learning and generative AI solutions for deployment into production. Strong proficiency in Python and AI frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras) Strong programming skills in Python/Java/Javascript. Knowledge in LLM, RAG, LangChain would be advantageous. Knowledge of cloud computing and AI deployment (AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure) would be advantageous. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and creative thinking skills. Work independently, as well as within a team, to ensure that the project can meet the milestones adhering to the stipulated timeline. At least 2 years working experience in AI/ML software development.
