You will be appointed as a Lecturer of Music, leading both secondary and primary music education, predominantly working within the secondary ITE team.

Student numbers on QTS programmes total between 500-600 per year. Student experience is at the heart of everything we do. The quality of our ITE Programmes and the development of socially engaged teachers - delivered through a team of committed and forward-thinking academic teams, is recognised by Ofsted and in the wider community.

The role of lecturer involves being an integral part of the team ensuring provision is to a high-standard and compliant with DfE and OfS requirements.  You will contribute to the planning, design and development of modules and programmes and curriculum changes (including adaptions resulting from DfE mandated frameworks) to deliver a range of high-quality teaching materials and associated student assessment activities.  At Grade 7 this can involve module leadership.

You will hold a relevant undergraduate degree with QTS, or PGCE (QTS) with a track record of successful music teaching with secondary age students and the ability to plan and teach primary music education. We are seeking an individual with excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrable ability to operate effectively in a demanding environment, which has both academic and professional practice requirements and compliance demands, including internal and external auditing and inspection.

Evidence-based teaching and engagement in real-world research activity sets our team apart and we will be seeking this in our new appointment, along with the ability and attitude to inspire and collaborate for outstanding experience and outcomes for our students.

You will lead the subject specialist curriculum provision for our secondary and primary student teachers, contribute to generic aspects of the ITE programmes and supervise practice-based learning across a number of schools within our partnership.

The Division of Engineering at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) invites applications for an open-rank (Assistant, Associate, or Full), tenured, or tenure-track faculty position in the Computer Engineering program. We seek candidates with a research focus on the theoretical foundations and practical applications of advanced machine learning techniques. Emphasis will be given to theoretical approaches in machine learning for real-world applications, with a preferred focus on optimization, data-efficient machine learning, approximate inference, statistical machine learning, continual learning, distributed machine learning, and the security and privacy aspects of machine learning. What we’re looking for

As part of significant expansion across the University, the School of Computer Science and Mathematics is looking to grow our faculty expertise within the Faculty of Health, Innovation, Technology and Science. We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic Lecturer in the field of Computer Science. We welcome applicants who have experience in the fields of Mathematics, Artificial Intelligence or Data Science. Ideally you will have a background in theoretical topics such as algorithm design, analysis and application, automata theory, complexity theory, formal methods, information theory or other computer science topics together with a practical focus in application and programming in various paradigms.

You will be required to contribute to the continuing enhancement of the courses within the Computer Science with Mathematics programmes, developing and delivering innovative and engaging curricula across undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in the school, providing intellectually stimulating teaching while motivating and supporting students in their learning. You will conduct research in your area of expertise and undertake scholarly activities in computer science to ensure our curriculum is up-to-date and meeting the needs of our students and employers. In addition, you may contribute to the development and delivery of outreach and engagement initiatives as well as interdisciplinary project areas. You should have a background in one of the relevant areas listed with a PhD in a related subject and/or relevant professional experience from industry.

The Position

Duties and Responsibilities


	Conduct research with high impact and make significant contribution to related fields;

	Teach and mentor undergraduate and postgraduate students in chemistry courses and research activities; and

Essential Requirements


	A Ph.D. in Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Material Science, or a relevant field;
	A strong publication record in top scientific journals;
	Experience in securing external research funding and engaging in collaborative research projects is preferred;
	Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
	Outstanding teaching skills in topics including but not limited to introductory organic chemistry, physical organic chemistry, advanced organic chemistry, chemical biology, biochemistry, medicinal chemistry, and spectroscopy of organic molecules;
	Commitment to delivering high-quality and mentoring to students; and
	Complementary expertise with the Department's existing strengths and focus on Materials, Chemical Biology, Spectroscopy, and Synthetic Chemistry.


What We Offer

The appointment will be made on fixed-term full-time contract for 3 years initially, with the possibility of renewal and consideration for tenure before the expiry of the second three-year fixed-term contract.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave, professional leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 15% of basic salary. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable. A start-up package commensurate with the needs and experience of the appointee will be provided.
