Faculties include medicine, agriculture and environmental sciences, engineering, technology, applied design and fine art, computing, library and information science, science, economics and management sciences, arts and social sciences, education and language studies. The university offers undergraduate degrees, postgraduate, doctorate programmes and short courses. The Student's Guild at the university organises events for students and provides support and advice across a range of areas including finances, academics, careers and mental health. The sport and games union ensures that are funds for students to play sports on campus.

The successful applicant will be joining a friendly and supportive team, committed to improving the quality of the student experience. About the Role  You will be the key point of contact for students, staff and External Partners on specific courses for advice, guidance and help. Responsibilities include the delivery of academic administration, student support and ensuring high levels of customer service and student satisfaction. You will play an important role managing the needs of a group of people, and balancing conflicting priorities of importance between them. The role will also include preparing evidence and documentation for decisions to be made on student academic progress, while being confident in advising on the most likely outcome. Experience of effectively and sensitively dealing with difficult situations is essential as is being able to prioritise and delegate. You will be IT literate, including Microsoft packages and database applications. Ideally, you will have experience of academic administration preferably within a Higher Education Institution. CORNERSTONE, the open access silicon photonics foundry at the University of Southampton, is seeking a proactive Programme Manager to manage activities across two programmes: developing an international semiconductor network and managing optical chip development for AI. These two activities provide a stimulating challenge with variety and clear career development opportunities, as described below. The successful candidate will help to develop a Canada-UK semiconductor network, which aims to empower early career researchers (ECRs) to lead the next wave of innovation in advanced materials, photonics and chip design. The successful candidate will also coordinate the activities of a consortium developing optical chips for AI. While these two activities are distinct, they share common attributes; the candidate will manage relationships with senior stakeholders, including industry, academia and policy makers in the UK and Canada. They will be comfortable working within a fast-paced environment, managing day-to-day operations, communications and marketing, while tracking actions to ensure deliverables are met.  The candidate will arrange training events, workshops and seminars, tracking membership and coordinating activities with partner organisations. The candidate will be expected to clearly communicate technical content to stakeholders. Location: ASARI Institute, Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P), Laayoune, Morocco Position overview: The ASARI Institute at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Postdoctoral Fellow in Plant Nutrition and Fertilization. The successful candidate will contribute to cutting-edge research aimed at developing sustainable soil fertility management systems for marginal agricultural soils, particularly under conditions of salinity and drought. The research will focus on the use of phosphate rock (RP) and its integration with diverse cropping systems, including legumes, cereals, grasses, and vegetables. The appointed candidate will conduct field, greenhouse, and laboratory trials, analyze data, and publish findings in high-impact journals. The role requires active participation in an interdisciplinary team to evaluate and optimize integrated soil fertility management strategies. Key duties and responsibilities: Research implementation: Design and conduct field, greenhouse, and laboratory experiments to evaluate the effectiveness of phosphate rock (RP) and other fertilization strategies in improving soil fertility and crop productivity. Investigate the interactions between soil amendments, cropping systems, and environmental stressors (salinity, drought) on plant nutrition and growth. Crop and soil analysis: Perform detailed analyses of plant tissues, soils, and fertilizers to assess nutrient uptake, soil health, and fertilizer efficiency. Use advanced analytical techniques to measure nutrient availability, soil microbial activity, and plant responses. Data management and analysis: Collect, manage, and analyze experimental data using statistical and modeling tools. Interpret results to draw meaningful conclusions and develop recommendations for sustainable agricultural practices. Publication and dissemination: Prepare high-quality research papers for publication in peer-reviewed journals. Present findings at national and international conferences, workshops, and seminars. Interdisciplinary collaboration: Work closely with a multidisciplinary team of scientists, agronomists, and environmental specialists to develop integrated soil fertility management systems. Collaborate with local and international partners to align research objectives with global sustainability goals. Project management: Contribute to the planning, execution, and reporting of research projects. Ensure timely delivery of project milestones and deliverables. Mentorship and training: Supervise and mentor PhD students and research assistants involved in the project. Provide training on experimental techniques, data analysis, and scientific writing. Requirements: Educational background: A Ph.D. in Plant Nutrition, Soil Science, Agronomy, Crop Science, or a closely related field. Research experience: Proven experience in conducting field, greenhouse, and laboratory experiments related to plant nutrition, soil fertility, and fertilization. Description The Smart Materials Lab (Panče Naumov Group) in the Division of Science and Mathematics, New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a post-doctoral associate to work on crystal structure determination using electron or X-ray crystallography. Candidates must have substantial experience in crystallography, specifically in the structure solution and refinement of small molecule crystals using either electron or X-ray diffraction techniques. While candidates with experience in structure analysis based on powder diffraction, neutron diffraction, or scattering data will also be considered, preference will be given to those with expertise in electron diffraction. Candidates should be capable of preparing samples, independently collecting data, and solving and refining crystal structures, including those that are theoretically and experimentally challenging, such as structures that exhibit twinning, disorder, or that change or decay over time. Proficiency in refining structures from electron diffraction data collected using a microscope or specialized equipment is preferred. The position is for two years, with the possibility of renewal, subject to mutual agreement. Candidates should hold a PhD degree with professional experience in biotechnology, process engineering, modelling, and simulation of bioreactor.
