Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce, formerly known as the Holy Cross Academy and the Jan Kochanowski University of Humanities, is a public university located in the city of Kielce, Poland. The university was established in 1945 and was named after Polish Renaissance poet, Jan Kochanowski.
Jan Kochanowski University offers more than 50 undergraduate and graduate courses across a range of disciplines such as pedagogical sciences, arts, exact and natural sciences, humanities, economical sciences, medical and health sciences, law, and physical sciences.
The university has more than 85 student scientific organisations providing students with opportunities to participate in extracurricular activities. The university campus includes five dormitories, a sports centre, well-equipped library, and the only student broadcasting station in Kielce.
The university has agreements with universities around the world including the Federal University of Grande Dourados, Zhejiang International Studies University, Kyiv Cooperative Institute of Business and Law, Rome University of Fine Arts and the University of Texas at Bronsville. The university also offers generous scholarships to international students through Polish Government Scholarship Programmes and its International Relations Office.
