About Istanbul Medipol University

Established as recently as 2009, Istanbul Medipol University is a non-profit private university which calls itself "the university of those who lead a living world".

It has expanded significantly within the last decade. It declares a vision "to be a pioneering university that leads science and society with its strong corporate culture, entrepreneurial spirit and dynamism to continual development".

With campuses on either side of the Bosphorus strait – the Medipol University Hospital at Bagcilar and the Halic campus close to the Golden Horn on the European side and two at Beykoz on the Anatolian side – it boasts of "campuses where the two continents meet".

While the 13 schools, most of whose activity is based at the Beykoz campuses, include humanities and social sciences and fine arts, design and architecture, medicine and allied disciplines remain the core of the institution.

The Medipol University hospital, whose 515 beds make it among the largest private facilities in Turkey, is divided into general, cardiovascular, oncology and dental sections and is the centre of a network of teaching hospitals.

Facilities available to students include a nursing vocational skills lab set up in 2011 and a dental simulation clinic.
