About Istanbul Bilgi University
Istanbul Bilgi University was established in 1996 in the city of Istanbul, Turkey. The university has four campuses: Kuştepe, Dolapdere, Santralistanbul and Kozyatağı.
The university offers undergraduate, associate and graduate programmes. Over 150 courses are offered across its seven faculties: architecture, business, communication, engineering and natural sciences, health sciences, law, and social sciences and humanities. The university also has three vocational schools, offering practical, industry-related skills. These are the School of Advanced Vocational Studies, Vocational School of Health Sciences, and the Vocational School of Justice. Students can also apply to take part in the Summer School Program or the International Laureate Summer School Program.
Students have access to resources such as the legal clinic, healthcare and engineering labs, RGB studios and a variety of workshops. Students also have access to over 1,000 on-campus events throughout the school year. These events range from the GAMES Congress, which brought Nobel Prize winning scientists to the campus, to the Young Social Entrepreneurs Awards.
Students are also offered an opportunity to work during their time at Istanbul Bilgi University through the on-campus student employment programme. Through the programme, students are offered part-time jobs in different departments of the university, allowing them to gain valuable work experience and helping them to decide on future careers.
There are over 100 student clubs for students to get involved with including are sports clubs, camping club, stage theatre, academic clubs from gastronomy to innovation and responsibility, and hobby clubs from comic books to ceramics.
Istanbul is the biggest city in Turkey and offers a wealth of cultural and historical wonders. The Grand Bazaar is one of the world’s largest covered markets, offering students the perfect place to try Turkish tea, buy some Turkish delight and see the local traditions. Other historic wonders include the Golden Horn, a natural estuary that connects the Bosphorus Strait and Marmara Sea.
