The university was formed through the separation of several faculties and vocational schools from Süleyman Demirel University. This reorganisation brought together academic units with strong practical and industry oriented foundations, particularly in agriculture, forestry and technical disciplines.
The university was officially founded in 2018.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly organised and technically capable Magnetoencephalography (MEG) Technician to join Swinburne Neuroimaging within the School of Health Sciences.

In this hands-on role, you will support the day-to-day operation of the MEG laboratory and be responsible for supporting the MEG laboratory infrastructure and other neuroimaging modalities and tools. You will assist researchers with conducting experiments, integrate related equipment and stimulus-presentation systems, and maintain accurate laboratory, training and data-management records. 

Working closely with the MEG Facility Fellow and Swinburne Neuroimaging Operations Manager, you will contribute to user training and inductions, laboratory tours and classes, equipment maintenance, inventory management and laboratory safety. You will also provide broader technical support across other neuroimaging modalities and facilities, including EEG and TMS laboratories.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience in laboratory or research environments who enjoys combining technical problem-solving, participant and researcher support, administration and practical laboratory operations.

About You

To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:


	High degree of organisational and administrative skills and a high level of responsibility and ethics.
	Technical skills such as interfacing equipment with PCs.
	Demonstrated experience working in lab and/or research settings.
	Ability to learn and adapt with strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
	Basic knowledge of neuroimaging techniques (especially EEG and MEG) is preferred. 
	Experience in EEG/MEG/psychophysiology research and with patient groups in a research setting would be an advantage. 
	Familiarity with experimental design software such as E-Prime and PsychoPy and interfacing measurement devices is preferred. 


Qualifications


	Undergraduate degree in science, neuroscience, psychology, engineering or related field and/or equivalent work experience.
	First aid qualifications and training is preferred.

This position requires a commitment to scholarly productivity, teaching excellence, and professional service. The successful candidate will be positioned to bridge many of the research sub-disciplines in the Department. Applicants should have (i) a PhD degree in sports/exercise science, kinesiology, public health or a closely related discipline; (ii) evidence of a strong record of publications in high-quality international journals, preferably in the areas of sports technology and AI analysis, sports pedagogy and physical education, exercise and rehabilitation science, or physical activity epidemiology and bioinformatics (iii) competence and experience in course teaching and research student supervision; and (iv) experience in programme administration and/or development.

The appointee will (a) teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses; (b) supervise graduate students; (c) publish in top-tier journals related to sports and health; and (d) involve in the development and delivery of teaching programmes.

We are seeking an exceptional candidate to join the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering as a Lecturer in Digital Engineering for Fusion Energy. The role-holder will drive forward research and teaching in digital engineering for fusion energy, developing and delivering the computational tools needed to meet the formidable engineering challenges this exciting field will face over the coming decades.

You will be responsible for:


	Development and delivery of internationally excellent research in one or more of the following topics, from an engineering perspective: multiphysics modelling and simulation of fusion in-vessel components (breeder blanket, first wall and divertor); development of digital twins, high-performance computing and AI/machine learning for fusion design and operation; verification, validation and uncertainty quantification for fusion safety and licensing; development of computational engineering tools for fusion materials modelling and structural integrity assessment
	Undertaking teaching duties in areas related to modelling & simulation, mechanics, structures & engineering design, (including but not limited to assessment, academic advising and project supervision) within the University on undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
	Embedding social responsibility and environmental sustainability within teaching and research practice. About You


Essential Criteria


	Educated to PhD level or equivalent in a topic closely linked to digital engineering for fusion energy, most likely via undergraduate degree in engineering, maths or physics.
	Proven track record in one of the areas of digital engineering for fusion energy described in the above section.
	Excellent communication skills and evidence of developing/delivering successful collaboration with other academic researchers.
	Commitment to contributing improvements to advance our inclusive, equal and fair working environment.


Desirable Criteria


	Experience with or capability for establishing meaningful links with industrial partners which are directly or indirectly relevant to the fusion or nuclear energy sector.
