Islamic University in Uganda is a private university in Uganda, established in 1988. It operates under national higher education regulations and serves students from Uganda and across Africa.

It has multiple campuses including Mbale, Kampala, Kabojja and Arua, allowing it to serve different regions of the country.

The university was founded in 1988 to expand access to higher education for English speaking Muslim communities in Eastern and Southern Africa, while also admitting students from diverse backgrounds.

It offers programmes through faculties including law, health sciences, science, education, management studies, arts and social sciences, Islamic studies and Arabic language, and technology and engineering.

It provides education at certificate, diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate levels across professional, scientific and humanities disciplines.

Student life is multicultural, with students from many countries. Accommodation is provided in halls of residence and students participate in academic and extracurricular activities across campuses.
