Based within Applied Chemistry and Environmental Science in the School of Science at RMIT University, the role involves working closely with multidisciplinary teams and engaging with national and international collaborators in sustainable energy research. The successful candidate will contribute to high-impact research aligned with RMIT's strategic priorities, undertaking both independent and team-based projects in materials science, with a particular emphasis on electrochemistry. In addition to supporting the day-to-day operations of the project, the Research Assistant will help build strong research networks, contribute to securing research funding, and produce high-quality outputs including publications and potential patents. About You Evidence of experience in well-developed, hands-on laboratory synthesis of advanced two dimensional (2D) layered nanomaterials and their characterisation. Evidence of experience in manipulating materials for improving the performance of electrochemistry. Evidence of experience in manipulating materials for flexible or wearable energy application. Emerging track record and recognition for quality research outputs, which will contribute to existing Discipline and School research areas evidenced by publications, development of new research initiatives, and competitive research funding. Demonstrated ability to work with and supervise higher degree by research candidates. Ability to build effective networks with colleagues resulting in collaborative outcomes. Excellent interpersonal and communications skills appropriate for interacting with higher degree by research candidates, staff and industry, together with a strong commitment to teamwork and multidisciplinary collaboration. Description The Division of Engineering at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) invites applications for a Post-Doctoral Associate position under the supervision of Prof. Qurrat-Ul-Ain Nadeem in the NextG Wireless Lab. The successful candidate will contribute to cutting-edge research on the modeling, design, and performance analysis of emerging massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) architectures for next-generation wireless communications systems. The candidate will investigate advanced MIMO paradigms, including continuous aperture MIMO, pre-optimized MIMO arrays, flexible intelligent metasurfaces, and tri-hybrid MIMO systems, with a particular emphasis on near-field propagation regimes relevant to ultra-massive MIMO systems. The candidate is expected to develop physically-consistent narrowband and wideband signal models for these frameworks, and use them to analyze key performance indicators such as achievable rates, coverage, and energy efficiency, as well as optimize relevant system parameters. Applicants must hold a PhD degree or terminal degree from a recognized institution of higher learning with no more than five years post receipt of this degree, in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, telecommunications, or related field. Other requirements include: Proven track record of publications in IEEE Communications Society’s and IEEE Signal Processing Society’s journals and conferences. Strong background in communication theory, signal processing, machine learning, and optimization theory. Strong verbal and written skills in English. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and capacity to pursue independent research as well as mentor graduate students. In addition to the above qualifications, it is desirable that the applicants have: Research background in one or more of the following areas: massive MIMO, near-field propagation, channel estimation. Experience working with software defined radios and experimental testbeds for wireless communications systems. Job Description The Postdoctoral Researcher will contribute to the development of innovative research at the intersection of hydrology, artificial intelligence, and urban systems. The position is aligned with the mission of the Center for Urban Systems (CUS), which promotes resilience, sustainability, and performance in urban and territorial systems. The researcher will focus on the design and application of hydrological, and AI-based modelling approaches to address water-related challenges in urban environments. This includes improving the understanding, prediction, and management of hydrological processes under the pressures of climate variability, urbanization, and increasing water demand. The role involves the integration of hydroclimatic, geospatial, and remote sensing data to support decision-making, strengthen urban water resilience, and contribute to sustainable water resources management. The selected candidate will also participate in interdisciplinary research activities, scientific publication, and project development. Main Responsibilities •    Conduct advanced research in AI-based modelling applied to urban water systems. •    Develop models, and predictive tools for hydrological analysis and urban water management.  •    Design analytical approaches to improve water resources management and urban resilience. •    Analyze hydrological processes in relation to climate variability, urban growth, and environmental pressures Integrate hydrological, climatic, geospatial, and remote sensing datasets for modelling purposes. •    Produce high-quality scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals and present research results at international conferences. •    Contribute to interdisciplinary research projects within the CUS related to urban sustainability, environmental monitoring, and urban resilience.
