This senior position will drive the development of the Collaborative Platforms framework to define and develop multiple specialised and technical support facilities. The Manager will oversee the facility operations and lead a diverse range of technical teams. They will drive innovation in service delivery and contribute to the strategic development of new facilities to meet emerging research and teaching needs. This senior position will ensure the delivery of high-quality, efficient, and innovative services that support research impact, revenue growth, and user satisfaction. In this position, you will: Provide strategic leadership and operational management across core facilities, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and high-quality service delivery. Lead, mentor, and develop technical teams, promoting a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance culture. Drive innovation and facility development, including evaluating, acquiring, and commissioning new equipment and technologies. Manage budgets, performance reporting, and stakeholder engagement to support the College’s research and teaching objectives. About You: You are a senior professional with extensive experience managing research or teaching facilities, ideally within a university or research environment. You are a strategic thinker with a proven ability to develop and implement operational plans, lead teams, and deliver outstanding service. You will demonstrate: Proven leadership in facility management, team development, change management and stakeholder engagement. Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, cost recovery, and revenue generation. Knowledge of compliance, safety, and quality standards for scientific facilities (e.g., WHS, PC2, accreditation). Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills, with a commitment to continuous improvement and innovation. The ability to analyse data, produce quality reports and presentations, and review technical agreements and contracts. The primary responsibility of this role is to deliver on an academic research project funded by HTX, where you will be part of the research team under the project titled: Occupant Tenability and Time to Flashover in Small-Sized Flats (Numerical Study Phase) Under this job, you will develop a CFD modelling platform to study effects of different ventilation factors on an occupant’s tenability when trapped in the bedroom and have a reliable time to flashover within representative HDB units. Job Responsibilities: Participate in and manage the research project with Principal Investigator (PI), Co-PI and the research team members to ensure all project deliverables are met. Undertake these responsibilities in the project: Assists in co-supervision of final year projects (FYP) or capstone projects students under the Project PI. Meeting the deliverables by carrying out the computational simulations and experimental studies planned for under the scope of work of the projects within the timeframe to meet the deliverables. Assists the PI in drafting of reports, conference proceedings and journal articles based on the outcome of the projects. Prepares and shares fortnightly report of results from the computations with the PI. Carry out Risk Assessment, and ensure compliance with Work, Safety and Health Regulations. Coordinate procurement and liaison with vendors/suppliers. To communicate and liaise with any internal and external stakeholders to ensure project deliverables are met. Any other adhoc duties assigned by Supervisor. Work independently, as well as within a team, to ensure proper operation and maintenance of equipment.
