Instituto Superior Politecnico Atlantida is a private institution located in Luanda, Angola’s capital city. It was founded in 2012 under Presidential Decree No. 168/12, which granted academic and administrative autonomy. 
The institute is based in Kifica, in Belas municipality, with its main campus located on the Estrada Lar do Patriota, Benfica, one of Luanda’s rapidly developing southern districts. 
The university is organised across four areas of knowledge: health sciences, engineering and technology, management sciences, and social sciences. It currently offers 15 undergraduate programmes, including law, international relations, pedagogy, psychology, sociology, business management, human resources management, accounting, economics, nursing, clinical analysis, computer engineering, civil engineering, pharmacy and physiotherapy.
The institute hosts an annual Scientific Conference (Jornadas Científicas), which brings together students, lecturers, researchers and professionals from the public and private sectors.

Description

The Perception and Active Cognition Laboratory in the Center for Brain & Health, New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a junior research scientist to work on the mechanisms underlying cognitive and perceptual Speed of Processing.

The successful applicant will drive a fascinating project on the interactions between sleep, circadian rhythms, stress and Speed of Processing, in both healthy participants and in patients with Multiple Sclerosis (and potentially other health and mental health conditions). The Research Scientist will ensure the successful acquisition and analysis of experimental data, including behavioral and neuroimaging (EEG/MEG and/or MRI) data. These studies will be informed by computational modeling and will use cutting-edge data analysis methods. The project will build on recent work from the Melcher lab on the neural mechanisms underlying individual and clinical differences in visual temporal resolution and in classic measures of Speed of Processing such as the SDMT, as well as recent studies from our lab showing an influence of mood and stress on these measures.

Applicants must have at least a Bachelor’s degree in a field related to this project, or a Masters degree with less than 5 years of experience. Previous experience in similar research paradigms (behavioral and/or neuroimaging experiments with human participants) is required. Applicants with a strong background in coding (such as in Python or Matlab) are particularly encouraged to apply.

The Institute of Ismaili Studies (IIS) is seeking a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow to join its Department of Academic Research.

The primary focus of the fellowship is to provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to revise and prepare their doctoral thesis for publication by IIS, ensuring that the work makes a significant contribution to the Institute’s research priorities in Islamic and Ismaili studies. 	A PhD in Islamic Studies or a closely related discipline, with specialisation in Shiʿi Studies, South Asian Studies, Central Asian Studies, Qur'anic Studies and Tafsīr, Islamic Theology and Philosophy, Islamic Intellectual History, or another relevant field aligned with the Institute’s research priorities.
	Experience of producing high-quality, original academic research suitable for publication.
	Experience of teaching or supporting learning in higher education.
	The ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
	A proactive approach, demonstrating initiative and sound judgement.
	Professionalism, discretion and diplomacy when working with colleagues and external partners.


A clear plan to develop the doctoral dissertation into a peer-reviewed monograph, working knowledge of Arabic and Persian, a record of scholarly publications, and experience of bibliographic, archival or collaborative research would be advantageous.
