Your personal sphere of influence: As a Predoctoral University Assistant, you work as a member of the team led by Professor Peter Schweitzer at the Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology. The research focuses is on the topics of climate change, structural transformation and the Alpine region. We are looking for a person with relevant research interest (dissertation topic), first research and publication experience and excellent language skills in German and English (both at least C1 level) As part of the Faculty of Social Sciences, the Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology not only brings together renowned scientists and students, but also different research areas, a variety of ethnographic methods, a large number of outstanding research projects and appreciative collegial exchange. The employment is limited to 15 months; an extension is not possible. This is a part-time position; working time is 30 hours per week. Your future tasks: You actively participate in research and teaching which means: You actively contribute to interdisciplinary research focusing on the topics of climate change, structural transformation and the Alpine region. You work on the finalization of your dissertation. You teach courses independently in accordance with the scope of the collective bargaining agreement. You supervise your students. You are involved in evaluation measures and quality assurance. You take on administrative tasks in both research and teaching. This is part of your personality: Qualifications:  Completed Master's degree or Diploma, in the field of Social and Cultural Anthropology or a related field of study Outstanding master's thesis and excellent academic success Fieldwork experience in in the Alpine region Experience in the implementation of interdisciplinary research projects Basic experience in academic writing, presentations and various research methods Excellent command of written and spoken German and English (both at least C1 level) Team player with strong social and communication skills Didactic skills and/or experience in lecturing and/or teaching are desirable What we offer: Work-life balance: You have flexible working hours and can sometimes work remotely. Schemes of Service: Research Division: Food, Chemical and Biotechnology Employment Type: Fixed Term As a University of Applied Learning, the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) works closely with industry partners to deliver translational, impact-driven research. Key Responsibilities Formulate and optimize legume-based protein beverages (e.g., soy, pea, faba bean protein) for desired taste, texture, and stability. Conduct experimental trials on protein extraction, solubility, and emulsification properties to improve product performance. Conduct proper Design of Experiments to evaluate the functionality of prototypes. Analyze shelf life of product and ensure compliance with food safety and regulatory standards. Evaluate sensory attributes (flavor, aroma, mouthfeel) and drive improvements based on consumer feedback. Scale up formulations from lab to pilot/industrial level. Troubleshoot formulation and processing challenges, including sedimentation, off-flavors, and shelf-life stability. Prepare and deliver scientific manuscripts, technical reports, progress summaries, and final reports for funding bodies and key stakeholders. Communicate effectively with both internal teams and external partners to support meetings, technology transfer initiatives, conferences, and authorized communication platforms. Guide, supervise, and mentor junior researchers, engineers, students, and visiting scholars contributing to project activities. Any other ad hoc responsibilities assigned by supervisor. Key Requirements Bachelor’s in food science, Food Technology, or a closely related discipline. Knowledge on legume proteins, rheology and product development. Familiarity with sensory evaluation, texture analysis, and food chara. Highly detail-oriented and self-driven, with the capability to work both autonomously and collaboratively across diverse teams. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including effective coordination with vendors, suppliers, and external partners.

You should be educated to degree level or have equivalent relevant experience. You will demonstrate a strong understanding of academic library services and customer service principles, alongside experience of leading or supervising staff in a customer-facing environment. You will be confident managing operational services, resolving complex enquiries and incidents, and working collaboratively across teams to enhance service delivery. Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills are essential, as is the ability to analyse user feedback and operational data to inform continuous improvement. Job Description FACULTY OF ARTS AND SOCIAL SCIENCES ACADEMY OF WELLNESS AND HUMAN DEVELOPMENT Professor / Associate Professor / Assistant Professor in Social Work (25260796) The Academy is dedicated to developing high-quality research that addresses social problems, and to engage in evidence-based research to inform macro and micro practice in social work and counselling. As a training institution, the Academy is committed to delivering high-quality education and training in social work, social policy and counselling and in related disciplines at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The prospective scholars are encouraged to participate and contribute by means of research, training and consultation to the professional community in Hong Kong. The appointee is expected to conduct cutting-edge academic research, contribute to academic programme development and assume high-level service and administrative responsibilities. We are looking for outstanding candidates who can complement or add to our existing strengths in social gerontology, healthy aging, life course, mental health; application of innovative approaches in practice; smart society and wellbeing; and macro practice. Candidates who have expertise in one or more of the above areas are encouraged to apply to contribute to the advancement of the Academy/Faculty. Applicants should possess a relevant doctoral degree, a proven track record of impactful research and tertiary teaching experience.
