The campus provides Indian students with the opportunity to earn a globally recognised degree without leaving the country.  Job Purpose  The role holder’s contribution will be central to delivery and support of teaching, learning and assessment, across Business for the University of Southampton Delhi.  The role holder will teach at undergraduate and postgraduate level in courses like Accounting & Control, Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, Audit & Taxation, Contemporary Issues in Accounting, and Sustainability Reporting, etc and engage in other necessary educational activities to ensure successful delivery of degree programmes. Once teaching activities are embedded and successful, the role holder will undertake research and knowledge exchange in line with the campus’s research strategy. More specifically, research expertise in the area of Accounting and Financial Reporting. The role holder will undertake leadership, management and engagement activities and will demonstrate collegiality by ensuring ‘Southampton Behaviours’ are embedded within their ways of working.  They will be committed to high-quality education and support of learning and to building a vibrant student experience and community. Appointment Type: Full-time, fixed-term appointment for 2 years, with a possibility of further renewal subject to funding Location: Macquarie University, Wallumattagal Campus, North Ryde The Role: An exciting opportunity exists for a talented and motivated researcher to join Macquarie University's School of Engineering and contribute to the project "Energy on Wheels: A New Approach to the Smart Grid with Electric Vehicles," a project funded by the Australian Research Council (ARC). You will develop a new model of electrical energy distribution, including renewable energy generation and electric vehicles. It will be used to optimize network resources across the grid, matched to energy supply and user demands. The project will include optimization and probabilistic analysis under practical engineering constraints. You will develop new tools for network optimization and performance analysis of a distributed smart grid with electric vehicles and renewable energy generation. You will collaborate with Profs Stephen Hanly, Iain Collings, Graham Town and Dr Hazer Inaltekin. There is a research plan that will guide the research but there is considerable scope for you to take a leadership role. There will be opportunities for supervision of postgraduate students as well. Selection Criteria To be considered for this position you need to provide a cover letter responding to the selection criteria below. The postholder will deliver modules spanning  Operating system internals and the general principles and practices of developing low-level software that interacts directly with hardware. AI fundamentals, search algorithms, knowledge representation, probabilistic reasoning, and machine learning techniques across real-world intelligent systems applications.  Human-computer interaction, user-centred design, agile software development, requirements gathering, and user acceptance testing methodologies. The post holder will contribute to curriculum delivery and assessment, participate in the school’s administration, and undertake leadership, management, and engagement activities.
