Job Purpose:  The Research Engineer will support applied research and innovation in sustainability focusing on, but not limited to, the Built Environment sector, working with internal teams and industry partners to develop practical solutions. The role focuses on translating scientific concepts into scalable solutions that address challenges in mitigating the impact of climate change and meeting environmental sustainability target through resource efficiency, energy management, renewable energy, waste management, and other sustainable solutions for various industries. Research engineers will collaborate closely with faculty, professional officers and industry partners to execute commercially viable solutions that address real-world challenges. In the process, research engineers gain valuable applied research capabilities aligned with evolving industry needs. Key Responsibilities: Applied Research & Development Perform sustainability assessment and analysis for organizational green transition. Develop of sustainability solutions and training roadmap development for organizational green transition, focusing on but not limited to the Built Environment sector. Develop and execute of sustainability projects by conducting experiments, data collection, and analysis for Proof of Concept (POC) and implementation for organisations in, but not limited to, the built environment sector at neighbourhood-scale and building-scale, such as microclimate study, building energy and resource-use efficiency, sustainability strategies and technologies. Industry Collaboration Support collaborations with industry partners to understand problem statements and contribute to solution development Assist in project scoping by gathering technical inputs and identifying relevant capabilities within the ecosystem (IHLs, research centres, industry partners) Participate in industry meetings, discussions, and project engagements Project Execution & Support Assist in planning and executing projects to ensure timely delivery of outcomes Generate technical reports, presentations, and documentation on the development of sustainability solutions and applications Contribute to grant proposals and project submissions where required Track project progress and maintain proper documentation of activities Job Requirements:  Bachelor’s degree with 5+ year experience OR Master’s degree with 2+ year experience in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services. Strong knowledge and experience in building passive strategies, ACMV systems and control. Hands on experience on experimental studies, including urban microclimate and thermal comfort study, is highly advantageous. Possess understanding of sustainability concepts (e.g., LCA, carbon foot printing, resource efficiency). Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Key competencies:  Possess understanding of sustainability challenges faced by industries locally and globally. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to communicate effectively with industry partners and stakeholders. Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional and multidisciplinary environment. Proactive approach to continuous learning and development in the sustainability field. Description The Social Science Experimental Laboratory (SSEL) at New York University Abu Dhabi invites applications for a Post-doctoral Researcher position. We seek an ambitious, well-trained, and collaborative scholar with a PhD in economics or a related field. Candidates must have expertise in experimental methods and prior experience conducting social science experiments (lab, lab-in-the-field, online, and/or field). Researchers working at the intersection of experiments and other methods (theory, empirical) as well those studying human behavior and artificial intelligence are especially encouraged to apply. The successful candidate is expected to: Conduct and publish research in leading journals in social science or interdisciplinary outlets. Collaborate with SSEL board members and affiliated faculty. Contribute to the smooth operation of the laboratory. Participate in the academic activities of the division. This position does not include teaching duties and the SSEL provides financial support for travel and research. The successful applicant will join a vibrant community of economists, sociologists, and political scientists conducting cutting-edge experimental research on human behavior. The Social Science division holds active seminar series, as well as workshops and events year round. The SSEL also maintains close ties with the Center for Behavioral Institutional Design (CBID), thereby offering many opportunities for collaboration, idea exchange, and research visibility. Introduction As a University of Applied Learning, the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) collaborates actively with industry in our research work. We seek a motivated candidate who is keen on rigorous research, the practical applications of code exfiltration and reverse engineering as well as security penetration testing. The primary responsibility of this role is to deliver on an industry innovation research project where you will be part of a research team to investigate and determine potentially critical Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) drone system vulnerabilities impacting confidentiality, integrity and availability. Key Responsibilities Participate in the research project with Principal Investigator (PI), Co-PIs and research team members to ensure all project deliverables are met. Initiate and help guide work and demonstrations in the following tasks: Firmware extraction and reverse engineering. Study, understand and analyse mobile platform applications. Design, develop and test AI-driven security testing techniques. Design, develop and test control augmentation techniques. Adaptation of developed techniques for more generic use. Perform project documentation and technical mentoring of student assistants. Carry out Risk Assessment, and ensure compliance with Work, Safety and Health Regulations. Work independently, as well as within a team, to ensure proper operation and maintenance of equipment.  Job Requirements A good degree in Computer Science / Engineering, preferably with a relevant postgraduate qualification for Research Fellow. Proficiency with firmware extraction and reverse engineering. Proficiency with penetration testing techniques and tools. As Singapore’s University for Industry, SIT works closely with industry partners in our research pursuits. Our research staff will have the opportunity to be equipped with applied research skill sets that are relevant to industry demands while working on research projects in SIT. The primary responsibility of this position is to deliver on a research project to develop an End-to-end misinformation and disinformation protection, awareness and mitigation pipeline. We will be recruiting a research engineers or fellows, as part of a wider project, to conduct research on: Signal processing combined with AI-based modification on speech signals. The need is for a real-time system, so efficient coding is important. Key Responsibilities: Participate in and manage the research project with Principal Investigator (PI) Ian McLoughlin, Co-PI Tong Rong and the research team members to ensure all project deliverables are met.  Undertake research within your domain, including keeping track of state-of-the-art work.
