The successful candidate will work on interdisciplinary projects aimed at understanding and improving the economic and financial aspects of cities, focusing on urban development dynamics and urban financial management. Responsibilities: Research and Analysis: Conduct original research on urban economics, including the analysis of economic policies, market dynamics, and financial strategies of cities. Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with experts in economics, finance, urban planning, and other relevant disciplines to develop integrated solutions. Case Studies and Modeling: Conduct case studies on specific cities, using economic and financial analysis tools to understand urban development processes. Communication and Dissemination: Prepare and present reports, scientific articles, and presentations for international conferences. Participate in workshops and seminars to disseminate research results. Project Management: Contribute to the management of research projects, including writing funding proposals, coordinating with partners, and monitoring budgets. Required Qualifications: PhD: A PhD in economics, finance, urban studies, urban planning, or a related field. Experience in Urban Economics and Finance: Strong experience in urban economics and finance research, demonstrated by relevant publications and research projects. Analytical Skills: Proficiency in economic and financial analysis methods, and modeling tools. Publications: A strong record of publications in international scientific journals. Communication Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas to diverse audiences. The project focuses on deciphering how imbalances in the gut microbiota contribute to chronic inflammatory conditions, colorectal cancer (CRC), and immune dysfunction, with an emphasis on discovering biomarkers and developing microbiome-based therapies. The research integrates multi-omics approaches (metagenomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics) to understand how dysbiosis influences immune responses, barrier function, and host metabolism. Key Responsibilities Lead metagenomic, proteomics, and metabolomic profiling of clinical and experimental samples to identify dysbiosis signatures. Apply bioinformatics tools for microbiome data analysis (ex, QIIME2, MetaPhlAn, Kraken2). Collaborate on multi-omics data integration and analysis. Contribute to manuscript writing, conference presentations, and grant applications. Required Qualifications PhD in Microbiology, Immunology, Systems Biology, Bioinformatics, or a related discipline. Job description: The successful candidate will: Conduct original and high-quality research in adsorption-based separation and/or membrane technology. Develop novel adsorbents and/or membranes for gas or liquid storage and separation applications. Characterize adsorption and transport properties using advanced analytical techniques. Prepare high-impact research papers for publication in leading peer-reviewed journals and present findings at international conferences, workshops, and meetings. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and engage in knowledge exchange with industry and academic partners. Contribute to the preparation of research proposals for external funding. Support the supervision of graduate students and assist in guiding their research projects. Assist in the development of undergraduate and postgraduate courses and modules. Facilitate the acquisition of necessary laboratory equipment and interact with international suppliers when required. Candidate Profile: The ideal candidate should have a strong background in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field with expertise in adsorption and/or membrane-based separation technologies. The following qualifications and skills are expected: PhD in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, or a related field. Expertise in adsorption or membrane-based separation technologies (e.g., gas separation, water treatment, or CO₂ capture). Strong knowledge of adsorption isotherm models, mass transport mechanisms, and surface chemistry. Experience in synthesis, functionalization, and characterization of adsorbents or membranes. Proficiency in advanced characterization techniques, such as BET, FTIR, XRD, SEM, TEM, TGA, ICP, and gas sorption analysis. Good understanding of process design for adsorption or membrane-based separation. Strong track record of publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals. Excellent communication skills (oral and written) in English. Ability to work independently as well as in a multidisciplinary research team.
