Description The Haven Lab, in the Division of Engineering and the Center for Cyber Security, New York University Abu Dhabi, invites applications for a Post-doctoral Associate position in security and privacy. The lab's mission is to provide individuals with control over their privacy and protection from digital threats. We want to work towards a future where digital services are inherently designed with user privacy and safety at the forefront. Current research thrusts involve: Large-scale measurements on the web to understand and characterize harmful online phenomena. Development of AI-based countermeasures for security and privacy, especially in on-device settings. Investigation of attacks/defenses on AI-based systems. Key Responsibilities: Contribute to driving and developing the lab's research directions and methodologies. Lead and collaborate on high-impact research projects in applied security and privacy. Mentor Ph.D./Master's/Bachelor’s students, providing guidance on research projects. Participate in developing coursework and organizing academic and community outreach events. Engage with academic and industry partners to advance the lab's research goals. Qualifications: A Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, with a focus on security, privacy, or applied machine learning, and with less than 5 years post receipt of PhD. Demonstrated research experience in at least one of the lab’s research thrusts. Good programming and analytical skills, and willingness to work with new technologies/systems. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment. Description Jaime Napier’s Lab at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) is seeking a Post-Doctoral Associate to conduct globally-conscious research on gender-related attitudes, gender stereotypes, and/or attitudes and beliefs about sexual orientation. Terms of employment include competitive salary and benefits. Research in our lab focuses on the social and psychological antecedents and consequences of inequality, broadly defined. The ideal candidate for the current position will have a strong background in research on gender and sexual orientation. Some potential projects include: (1) understanding backlash against gender equality and queer rights; (2) understanding the content and structure of gender stereotypes and their consequences; and (3) examining patterns of gender-related attitudes over time and cross-nationally. The position entails involvement in all stages of research, including (but not limited to) study design, data collection, data analysis, manuscript preparation. Candidates must hold a PhD in social psychology or a closely related field, with no more than five years post receipt of the PhD, be competent in research design and advanced statistical analyses, and have strong writing and communication skills.
