The Indian Institute of Technology Mandi is located in the small town of Mandi, Himachal Pradesh in India and was established in 2009. The main campus is eco-friendly and sustainable with over 300 acres of mountains, and in 2014 the institute elected a Green Panel to ensure the management of green activities on campus. Mandi is a historic town on the banks of the River Beas, known for its old stone temples and fine carvings. The institute has four main schools: computing and electrical engineering; basic sciences; engineering; and humanities and social sciences. Across these schools, students can gain a bachelor of technology, a master of arts, master of science, master of technology, master of science, and a doctor of philosophy. Across these schools, students can choose courses including: linear algebra, German, remote sensing, electromechanics, music, and psychology. Students at the Indian Institute of Technology Mandi can enjoy various activities, including sports such as badminton, cricket, hockey, cycling and table tennis. The sports society also organises an annual sports festival for teams to come together and compete. There’s also a range of cultural clubs, including art, movie making and photography, as well as literary clubs and debating club. The Indian Institute of Technology Mandi provides students with equipment and resources to study their chosen discipline. There are several different labs including those for thermos-fluids, BioX, nanotechnology and photoresist. The computational facility, CNC lathe and milling workshop, and NKN electronic classroom are among the other facilities.

You are highly organised, detail-oriented and analytical, with strong planning, time management, data analysis and reporting skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities without compromising accuracy. You bring a service-oriented mindset and a strong commitment to staff experience, with the interpersonal skills to build trust and maintain effective working relationships across teams. You act with integrity and discretion, handling confidential and sensitive information with a high level of professionalism. Experience in process improvement, vendor management, HR systems or providing guidance to junior staff would be a strong advantage. Join Our Team – Research Fellow Opportunity at the Optoelectronics Research Centre We are seeking a Research Fellow with a strong background in nonlinear optics for single / paired photon generation and measurement to join our team at the University of Southampton in collaboration with our industrial partners at Covesion Ltd. This role sits at the boundary between nonlinear optics and quantum technology, investigating the use of commercial grade materials for generation and conversion of single photons between visible and infrared wavelengths. The main goal is to design and characterise Periodically-Poled Lithium Niobate (PPLN) and Thin Film Lithium Niobate (TFLN) waveguides for single- and paired-photon generation at application-driven wavelengths for quantum-enhanced imaging, computing, and networks. Your attention to detail and commitment to excellence will help us create high-performance optical components that advance our research goals and commercial partnerships. Who We’re Looking For We seek a talented research fellow with skills and knowledge to complement our team. You should be comfortable working in a lab environment with lasers and optical characterisation equipment.
