The Positions The Vice-Presidents and Pro-Vice-Chancellors will be key members of the Senior Management Team shaping university strategy and policy. The School offers undergraduate majors in computer science, information systems, data science and software development within its flagship Bachelor of Advanced Computing degree and combined degree programs with commerce and science. SCS also offers postgraduate coursework degrees in Computer Science, Data Science, Complex systems and the Master of Health Technology Innovation. We are currently seeking applications for two Postdoctoral Research Associates in all algorithmic areas of Theoretical Computer Science. In this role you will work closely with Professor Tony Wirth, Head of School, and contribute to the collegial culture of the Sydney Algorithms and Computing Theory group (SACT) at the School of Computer Science. In addition, you will be given the opportunity to attend flagship theoretical computer science conferences to present your work, and to mentor HDR and Honours students. Your key responsibilities will be to: conduct high-quality research independently and collaboratively (with Prof Wirth and colleagues) to advance the state-of-the-art of algorithmic research publish research outcomes in leading international conferences participate in the research activities of the broader SACT group (seminars, reading group, etc.) mentor graduate and undergraduate students adhere to and promote the University's health, safety, and ethical guidelines. The School's gallery, Tin Sheds, has an annual program featuring creative work that sits at the intersection between art and architecture practice. We seek to appoint a Lecturer - Art in Architecture and Design Practice (Education Focused), whose work sits at the intersection of contemporary architecture and artistic practice and who has an outstanding record of practice in this area. This role will involve teaching and research that engages in innovative, contemporary modes of making, with a willingness to explore the interface between digital and analogue forms of creative practice. The role involves academic leadership within art and architecture and design education, as well as undertaking research and service within the school and university.
