The Placement Coordinator plays a pivotal role in supporting the delivery of high quality accredited placement programmes. This is a complex and diverse workload which includes, supporting students in their preparation, securing and effectively managing their placement experience; sourcing placement opportunities and coordinating employer engagement, liaising with academic departments and managing day-to-day placement administration. The role ensures smooth processes, accurate records, and high quality service across the placement lifecycle. To be successful in this role, you will be a strong communicator, good team player, highly organised, have a systematic approach to problem solving and have a proven track record in adaptability. Job Description FACULTY OF SCIENCE DEPARTMENT OF MATHEMATICS The Department is strongly committed to producing top-class research in the areas of applied mathematics, scientific computing and statistics, while simultaneously emphasises the nurturing of students from a wide range of academic backgrounds. It receives allocation from Science Faculty Niche Research Area to establish world-class research teams to develop the necessary experimental platforms, modelling and data analysis capabilities. Research Assistant Professor (25260446) Responsibilities: The Department is recruiting one scholar at the rank of Research Assistant Professor in applied probability, data science, machine learning, and spatial statistics. Candidates with a strong background in the development of novel models and original methodologies are preferred. Requirements: Applicants should possess a relevant PhD degree with a solid and outstanding track record in research. They should have a solid statistical background, and a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and mentorship. The initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of two years. We are particularly interested in candidates working in the areas of early modern science, or science or medicine in Asia, or Indigenous knowledge systems. Successful candidates will dedicate 40% of their contribution to teaching-related activities, 40% to research-related activities, and 20% to governance, leadership, and engagement.
