Demonstrated experience in new venture transactions Leading by influence: proven ability to be persuasive with a diverse range of stakeholders, including strong verbal and written communication skills and exemplary negotiation skills. Experience in managing conflicts of interest and performing commercial due diligence. Part-time (0.8 FTE), 12-month fixed-term opportunity Be part of a pioneering research environment where your health economics expertise will directly shape innovative musculoskeletal research and contribute to improving health outcomes through evidence-based impact at the Sydney Musculoskeletal Research Centre, based at the Charles Perkins Centre Base Salary $103,185 (pro-rata) + 17% superannuation About the opportunity Join the Sydney Musculoskeletal Research Centre (SydneyMSK) as a Health Economist and play a key role in establishing and delivering SydneyMSK's Health Economics Support Hub. Working closely with the Centre Director, Prof Mandy Nikpour, Centre Manager, Stephanie Beshara, and senior academic leaders, including Dr Marina Pinheiro, you will help embed health economic thinking across musculoskeletal research by providing operational, technical, and project support to researchers seeking to incorporate economic evaluation into their work. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a growing centre of research excellence, supporting the coordination of Hub services, connecting researchers with specialist expertise across the University and external partners, and helping deliver practical guidance on health economic approaches. You will also contribute to seminars, workshops, shared resources, and continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen health economics capability across SydneyMSK. Your key responsibilities will be to: Support the establishment and day-to-day delivery of the Health Economics Support Hub, working closely with senior academic leaders to embed high-quality health economics support across musculoskeletal research. Provide practical guidance to researchers on health economic considerations, including study design, data collection approaches, and basic economic analysis within scope of practice. Facilitate connections between researchers and relevant health economics expertise across the University of Sydney and external partner organisations to strengthen research capability and collaboration. Coordinate and deliver capacity-building initiatives, including seminars, workshops, and resource development to enhance understanding and application of health economics principles. Contribute to the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of shared tools, resources, and reporting processes that support economic evaluation and service delivery. Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders while contributing to collaborative research activities, outputs, and an inclusive team culture. About you Tertiary qualifications (Bachelor's degree or equivalent) in a relevant field, ideally in MSK or public health, with an equivalent combination of relevant training and experience. Demonstrated experience in health economics, health services research, biostatistics, or a related discipline, with knowledge of health economics methodologies such as economic evaluation, economic modelling, discrete choice experiments, and quality of life research. Demonstrated track record of grant applications, peer reviewed publications and/or policy-relevant report in health economics, or a related area Experience with data linkage projects to evaluate healthcare resource use and costs Strong project coordination skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, monitor budgets and expenditure, maintain accurate records, and deliver outcomes with a high level of organisation and attention to detail. Proven experience supporting research or health-related projects and working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders across academic, healthcare, or partner organisations. Excellent written, verbal, and numerical skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both specialist and non-specialist audiences, alongside strong proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite. Doctoral Researchers (30 positions) in various disciplines at the University of Helsinki, Finland The University of Helsinki Doctoral School (UHDS) invites applications for 30 salaried doctoral researcher positions in various disciplines. The positions are four‑year fixed‑term, full‑time employment contracts, starting between 1 January and 31 March 2027. The positions are part of an international, interdisciplinary RESDOC doctoral training project, co‑funded by the European Union’s Horizon Europe Marie Skłodowska‑Curie Actions (MSCA) COFUND scheme and the University of Helsinki. About the position Doctoral researchers will: Conduct full‑time doctoral research leading to the completion of a PhD degree Be enrolled in one of the 14 doctoral programmes of the University of Helsinki corresponding to their research field Work as part of an international and multidisciplinary RESDOC doctoral training project Receive academic supervision from leading researchers in their respective fields Research includes temporary secondments or research visits outside the University of Helsinki in RESDOC associated partner organizations when separately agreed.
