The Iloilo State University of Fisheries Science and Technology (ISUFST) is the first and only state university in the Philippines specialising in fisheries and related sciences. Its history dates back to 1957, when it was established as the Central Iloilo National School of Fisheries, before evolving into the Iloilo State College of Fisheries in 1978. It attained its current university status and name in 2023.
The university operates a multi-campus system, with its main campus located in Barangay Tiwi, Barotac Nuevo, Iloilo, and additional campuses in Barotac Nuevo (Poblacion), Dingle, Dumangas, and San Enrique.
Situated in the Western Visayas region of the central Philippines, Iloilo is known for its coastal geography, rich fishing grounds, and strong agricultural base. The location provides an ideal environment for specialised study in fisheries and marine sciences.
The university offers a variety of degree programmes across fields such as fisheries and aquatic sciences, marine transportation, education, information technology, industrial technology, business and management, and hospitality. These are delivered at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels through its various colleges and faculties.
