Iloilo Science and Technology University was given university status in 2013. It can trace its roots back to the foundation of Iloilo Trade School in 190. The first degree courses were introduced in 1951 and graduate provision from 1976. It spent 30 years as Western Visaya College of Science and Technology before the merger with four other institutions that created its current incarnation. Students can study across schools of business and management, arts and sciences, engineering and technology, life sciences and medicine, natural sciences and social sciences and management. There are five campuses, all inherited from the merger with the main campus in the La Paz district of Iloilo City.

Duties and Responsibilities The appointee will support the research and implementation of a large-scale mental health and well-being project for primary schools in Hong Kong under the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Social Sciences. Major tasks include: Assisting in the design and development of research studies and evaluation frameworks. Supporting the implementation of research activities and programme evaluation. Collecting and analysing data under supervision. Preparing technical research reports. Coordinating research interns. Performing administrative tasks in support of the research-cum-intervention project. Any other duties as assigned.  Requirements The appointment (Post-doctoral Fellow / Senior Research Assistant) will be offered based on the qualifications and experience of the appointee: For the Post-doctoral Fellow post, applicants should have a Ph.D. degree or an equivalent qualification in Psychology, Social Sciences or a related discipline. For the Senior Research Assistant post, applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Sciences or a related discipline plus 3 years’ research experience since the award of the first degree; or a research Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Sciences or a related discipline plus 1 year’s post-qualification research experience.  The appointee should possess: A good command of written and spoken English and Chinese. Strong research skills in Psychology or Social Sciences. Proficiency in statistical software (e.g., SPSS, Jamovi, or R), as well as MS Excel and Chinese typing. Experience in the implementation of community or educational research projects will be an advantage. What We Offer The appointment will commence in September 2026, on a two-year fixed-term basis for the Senior Research Assistant, and on a two-year temporary term for the Post-doctoral Fellow, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability. Strong quantitative research skills within sociology or social sciences, demonstrated through relevant experience or coursework. Proficiency in statistical software such as Stata, R, or other relevant tools to facilitate data analysis and interpretation. Experience or interest in conducting research on topics related to child and youth development, family studies, education, and physical and psychological health disparities. Experience in data collection projects is preferred.
