IIHMR University

The Indian Institute of Health Management Research (IIHMR) University, Jaipur, was officially founded in 2013. However, its history dates back to 1984 when the institute was established as a non-profit society. The institute aimed to improve standards of healthcare through management research, education, and training. The university is located in Jaipur, the capital and largest city of Rajasthan, one of India’s states. The university is organised into four schools and institutes: the Institute of Health Management Research, the School of Pharmaceutical Management, the School of Development Studies, and the School of Public Health. The university specialises in postgraduate education, offering MBA, MPH, doctoral programmes, executive education, research and consultancy to its students. The university has developed partnerships with other higher education institutions around the world. These include the Johns Hopkins University in the US, the University of Montreal in Canada, and the BP Koirala Institute of Public Health in Nepal. These partnerships facilitate academic and scientific exchanges throughout the year. Research carried out at the university is mainly focused on policy, health programmes, systems and population management. There are six centres that facilitate the university’s research projects, which include the Centre for Gender Studies and the Centre for Health Economics.
