The Student Integrity team administers policies and legislation in relation to appeals, academic integrity, and student conduct, managing complex and sensitive student matters, including conduct involving allegations of gender-based violence. The Deputy Manager, Student Conduct and Appeals, supports the operational delivery of services across these areas, working closely with the Manager to ensure effective, consistent, and trauma-informed processes. This includes contributing to compliance with University legislation and national regulatory requirements, supporting statutory reporting obligations, and assisting with the management of appeals, academic integrity and reports of student (mis)conduct to ensure they are managed fairly, sensitively, and in accordance with policy and legislation. The role provides advice to stakeholders, contributes to continuous improvement initiatives, and supports the day-to-day coordination of team activities to deliver high-quality services and contribute to safety and wellbeing by promoting of a culture of integrity and accountability. The successful candidate will manage, investigate and resolve complex and sensitive cases of student conduct, including those relating to gender-based violence, applying sound judgement, discretion, and a strong understanding of relevant policy, legislative frameworks, and trauma-informed approaches.  Our ideal candidate We are seeking a team leader with a demonstrated background in governance, compliance, and complex case management within a higher education or similar regulatory environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate: experience in policy, legal compliance, investigations, complaint-handling and appeals management. Strong organisational and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and apply complex legislation and policy frameworks in day-to-day operations and casework. Proven ability to lead and develop teams, fostering a culture of service excellence, accountability and continuous improvement. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders and support the resolution of sensitive matters. A commitment to equity, inclusion, and trauma-informed practices when managing (mis)conduct and complex behavioural issues. Experience in case handling of gender-based violence matters, including contributing to risk assessment, management and ongoing monitoring. A sound understanding of the impacts of vicarious trauma, with a proactive approach to supporting staff wellbeing through regular engagement and early intervention. This post is a MAP Student Advisor role with a particular focus on assistive technology within the wider student advisory service. Reporting to the MAP Student Advisory Manager within the Maynooth Access Programme (MAP), MAP Student Advisors are based in the Maynooth Access Office as part of a multidisciplinary team that includes outreach and student support professionals, clinical and technical specialists, and administrative staff. While MAP Student Advisors currently report to the MAP Student Advisory Manager, the breadth of engagement with colleagues across the university means that reporting lines can change in line with future organisational/structural reviews and developments as the service expands and develops.
