Job Description FACULTY OF SCIENCE DEPARTMENT OF MATHEMATICS The Department is strongly committed to producing top-class research in the areas of applied mathematics, scientific computing and statistics, while simultaneously emphasises the nurturing of students from a wide range of academic backgrounds. It receives allocation from Science Faculty Niche Research Area to establish world-class research teams to develop the necessary experimental platforms, modelling and data analysis capabilities. Research Assistant Professor (25260788) Responsibilities: The Department is recruiting one scholar at the rank of Research Assistant Professor with research interests in areas such as applied probability, spatial statistics, and stochastic processes. The appointee is expected to conduct high-impact research and engage in various scholarly activities, including securing research funding, student supervision and taking up teaching duties, if necessary. Requirements: A relevant PhD degree in probability and statistics; Demonstrate potential for excellence in research; Experience in teaching at the university level is also expected; and A promising track record in developing novel models and original methodologies is a definite advantage.  The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract up to two years. The Role: Teaching Fellowship in Music Psychology We seek to appoint a talented individual to the role of Teaching Fellow in Music Psychology, tenable from 1 September 2026. You will contribute to high-quality teaching and curriculum development at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including the Department's ongoing efforts to address challenges relating to gender equality, race and decolonisation. You will very likely be required to teach the UG Level 2 module "Music and Science" ( ), contribute seminars about Music Psychology within our newly formulated MA module ("Research in Music"), and provide one-to-one supervision of dissertations at both undergraduate and MA level. Description Jaime Napier’s Lab at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) is seeking a Post-Doctoral Associate to conduct globally-conscious research on gender-related attitudes, gender stereotypes, and/or attitudes and beliefs about sexual orientation. Terms of employment include competitive salary and benefits. Research in our lab focuses on the social and psychological antecedents and consequences of inequality, broadly defined. The ideal candidate for the current position will have a strong background in research on gender and sexual orientation. Some potential projects include: (1) understanding backlash against gender equality and queer rights; (2) understanding the content and structure of gender stereotypes and their consequences; and (3) examining patterns of gender-related attitudes over time and cross-nationally. The position entails involvement in all stages of research, including (but not limited to) study design, data collection, data analysis, manuscript preparation. Candidates must hold a PhD in social psychology or a closely related field, with no more than five years post receipt of the PhD, be competent in research design and advanced statistical analyses, and have strong writing and communication skills. Preferences will be given to candidates who are passionate about gender-related issues and have their own research agenda toward that end. Applications will be accepted immediately.
