It is a workplace with an emphasis on spondylosurgery. It emphasises the connection between clinical practice and the latest knowledge of science and its applications. It is very actively involved in the education of professionals in a wide range of orthopaedics. It collaborates within the trauma centre with other surgical disciplines on the treatment of patients. The Department Head position candidate must be a respected expert in the field of orthopaedics, with experience of working in a given area and with expertise in pre-graduate and postgraduate education. The Head of the department will be responsible for the management of the clinic, undergraduate medical education, doctoral studies, publishing and coordination of research conducted at the clinic. The Candidate for Department Head will present his/her idea of fulfilling the above during the selection process. SCHOOL OF VETERINARY SCIENCE About the role | Mō tēnei tūranga mahi The School of Veterinary Science, Massey University, is seeking applicants for a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Veterinary Microbiology and Public Health within the Pathobiology and Infectious Disease group. This is an ongoing, full-time position based on the Manawatū campus in Palmerston North. This role involves contributing to teaching, research, and service within the School, supporting undergraduate and postgraduate education across a range of delivery modes. You will assist in the design and delivery of courses, assessments, and learning resources, while engaging with students through lectures, tutorials, laboratories, and workshops. Alongside teaching, you will actively participate in research in areas such as veterinary bacteriology, public health, and antimicrobial resistance. This includes developing projects, securing funding, publishing findings, and supervising postgraduate students. The position also supports diagnostic microbiology services, contributes to academic administration and professional development, and engages with the wider community and stakeholders. A strong commitment to collaboration, ethical practice, and health and safety is essential. About you | Mōu Veterinary professional degree (e.g. BVSc, DVM, VMD) from an AVMA-accredited school or one recognised by the New Zealand Veterinary Council to enable full registration in New Zealand as a veterinarian. Advanced research degree (e.g. PhD) in veterinary bacteriology, antimicrobial resistance, or public health. ACVM/ECVM board certified or board eligible would be advantageous. Experience in clinical bacteriology is essential. Experience in veterinary teaching and postgraduate training in clinical bacteriology or public health is desirable. Research experience in veterinary bacteriology, antimicrobial resistance, or public health is desirable.     Knowledge of New Zealand's animal production systems and disease systems is desirable. Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Condensed Matter Physics. Experience in numerical techniques and analytical field-theoretical approaches is desirable. Applicants who are in the process of completing a Ph.D. degree will also be considered. The appointee will work with Prof. Zi Yang Meng to conduct research on computational and theoretical condensed matter physics.
