Hong Kong Metropolitan University is located in Ho Man Tin, Hong Kong. It was first established in 1989 as the Open Learning Institute of Hong Kong. It began as a distance-learning institution, but has been offering in-person courses since 2011. It is made up of five schools: arts and social sciences; Lee Shau Kee School of Business and Administration; education and languages; nursing and health studies and science and technology. There are nearly 50 student societies at the university including psychology society, computing society, drama society, film society, badminton society and social service society among others. The university also has a student society which acts as a bridge between the students and the university. Hong Kong Metropolitan University joined the country's joint university programmes admissions system (JUPAS) in 2007. It adopted the current name in September 2021 and offers part time and full time education both online and on its campuses.

Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Developmental/Educational Psychology or other related disciplines. They should have good academic publication record in developmental/educational psychology. They should also have the experiences of overseeing the implementation of a large-scale research project. Knowledge and experience in assessment development are desirable. Applicants should have a high level of writing proficiency in English and demonstrated ability in writing up research findings for both academic and general audiences, and be self-motivated, responsible and able to work independently and within a team. The appointee will work on various projects related to children’s and adolescents’ mathematics and science learning. Duties include literature review, development of assessment materials, liaise with external parties, supervision of research staff and research interns, data processing and analysis, preparation of manuscripts and reports, development of new research initiatives, and other research-related duties as assigned. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. To develop, manage and lead on the delivery of an effective strength & conditioning programme for the LJMU Performance Sport Programme. This will include designing, delivering and evaluating strength and conditioning sessions for the LJMU Performance Sport athletes based in Liverpool by developing, implementing and evaluating strength and conditioning programmes that reflect scientific principles as they relate to adaptation, periodisation, peaking, tapering, injury prevention, rehabilitation, recovery and athlete screening/assessment. The role will also include management of S&C practitioners that are responsible for S&C delivery to TASS scholars and externally contracted athletes.
