We are seeking a Registered Midwife active on the NMC register to join the Midwifery Team in the Department of Nursing, Midwifery and Health at the University of Southampton covering a period of maternity leave. The team is experienced, friendly, and supportive and is enthusiastic and committed to developing Midwives of the future who can innovate and lead change. You will be involved in the delivery of our pre-registration BSc (Hons) Midwifery programme, leading to registration as a Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Council. You will have an exceptional understanding of issues facing contemporary midwifery practice. We are looking for someone who shares our passion for outstanding midwifery education and has a dynamic vision for how education and research can transform health care. You will facilitate teaching, learning and assessment, provide academic guidance to students, and support practice assessors and supervisors. You will have a commitment to excellence in the development of future Midwives. You will be innovative and creative, using these skills to further advance the delivery of the programme, and to further enhance our national and international reputation as a centre of excellence for midwifery education. You will have the opportunity to work with highly experienced academics to support your own ongoing professional development. Ideally, you will have considerable experience of working in a higher education institution and will have been involved the delivery of a Midwifery programme. However, we are also keen to hear from you if you are an experienced clinician, working clinically but with proven educational skills and experience. The selected candidate will also contribute to Qatar University’s mission of achieving distinction in higher education. Key Responsibilities 1. Curriculum development, Teaching and Educational Activities Develop and deliver the undergraduate didactic, practical/clinical, and research components of the orthodontic curriculum, ensuring alignment with national and international standards for advanced education in orthodontics, as well as institutional policies.  Design and coordinate courses, including learning outcomes, syllabi, competencies, and assessment tools, in alignment with Qatar University guidelines and academic requirements Deliver high-quality teaching in orthodontics across pre-clinical, clinical, and didactic courses. Supervise and mentor undergraduate students, including participation in case-based learning, competency assessments, OSCEs and research projects. Contribute to curriculum development and the continuous enhancement of academic programs through effective course coordination, assessment design, and participation in accreditation-related activities. Participate in academic advising and conduct formative and summative evaluations, including remediation and progression decisions in accordance with program policies. Contribute to accreditation-related activities and participate in the implementation of continuous quality improvement strategies. 2. Clinical Responsibilities Provide clinical supervision and ensure adherence to best evidence-based practice standards compassionately and professionally. Contribute to fostering an environment that promotes both high-quality patient care and excellent student learning. 3. Research & Scholarship Conduct high-quality research in orthodontics (clinical, translational, or basic science) and publish in high-impact and peer-reviewed journals. Supervise undergraduate student research projects and contribute to collaborative, interdisciplinary research initiatives. 4. Service and Leadership Engage in College and University service, including committees, student advising, professional development activities and community outreach as needed. Support accreditation processes, quality assurance activities, and strategic initiatives. Qualifications A BDS/DDS/DMD (or equivalent) from a recognised/accredited university. About the Role We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Professional Trainer in Advanced Electronic Design to join our world‑leading School of Electronics and Computer Science. Working as part of SoC labs (https://soclabs.org/), you will design, develop and deliver workshops, lectures and online learning content in areas including digital electronic design, system‑on‑chip (SoC) design, verification and implementation.
