Building on our highly successful Forged in Sheffield, Shaping the Future campaign, the Director will lead our fundraising strategy and cultivate our global alumni community, working closely with colleagues across the University to engage alumni in support of our broader strategic ambitions and enhance our global reputation. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this role involves working closely with the President and Vice-Chancellor and the wider University Executive Board on fundraising activity and the cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of our most significant donors and prospects. The Doctoral Programme in Social Sciences is inviting applications for the positions of DOCTORAL RESEARCHER IN ECONOMICS for fixed one-year term starting from 1 September 2026. The employment is part-time (50%). In addition, the Yrjö Jahnsson Foundation grants and pays a personal scholarship to those selected for the position. About the post You are tasked with completing your doctoral thesis and your doctoral degree in accordance with the curriculum of your doctoral programme. Your duties may also include teaching and other duties up to 5% of your annual working hours. The employment contract will be subject to a probationary period of six months. In addition, the appointee will be paid a salary component based on personal work performance.
