Hiroshima International University was founded in 1998 in Hiroshima, Japan. It has seven faculties, with 10 departments, offering students 10 undergraduate majors. With Japan’s ageing society, the university focuses on equipping its students with medical and caring skills to be able to look after the ageing population. There are two campuses at Hiroshima International university. Higashihiroshima Campus situated in Higashihiroshima, housing the faculties of rehabilitation, health and sports, healthcare sciences, and health sciences. The Kure Campus, located in Kure-Shi is home to the faculty of nursing, healthcare sciences and pharmaceutical sciences. Students can study a range of courses from clinical engineering technology to physical therapy, child care to care work, and many more. Students in each department have the opportunity to gain various qualifications before graduating, allowing them to go straight into the medical world of work and practice their skills. The institutions aims to strengthen its connections with the local community, and therefore offers a range of facilities to enhance this relationship. They offer work experience sessions which provide children with medical-employment experiences, allowing them to ask questions about their futures in medicine. The weekly radio station, FM Higashi Hiroshima, is produced entirely by students, where they speak about planning, interviews and other essential skills. There is also a volunteer centre and psychology clinic centre, where locals meet with university staff and students to gain support.

The Flow Cytometry unit is one of the HiLIFE life science research infrastructures at the University of Helsinki. The unit operates at two locations: the Viikki Flow Cytometry unit on the Viikki campus and the Biomedicum Flow Cytometry unit on the Meilahti campus. https://www.helsinki.fi/en/infrastructures/flow-cytometry We invite applications for a fixed term Research Infrastructure technician position at the Biomedicum Flow cytometry unit in Meilahti. We are seeking a substitute for a parental leave until end of September 2026. Preferably a person with background in flow cytometry, to support customers with their flow cytometry experiments. The person will contribute to the maintenance of the unit and participate in daily maintenance of the instrumentation. The role encompasses a variety of tasks, the exact work profile will be tailored based on the selected candidate´s background. The tasks will include: Assisting users with the operation of flow cytometers Performing maintenance and calibration of instruments Preparing and supporting the analysis of flow cytometry data Providing customer assistance for data analysis Staying current with advancements in the field through training and education YOUR PROFILE A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, or a related discipline Fluency in English Experience in flow cytometry Experience in data analysis is an asset Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team A service-oriented mindset and a genuine interest in working with diverse stakeholders SALARY AND CONTRACT The position is offered for a fixed term until end of September 2026. The Doctoral Programme in Social Sciences is inviting applications for the positions of DOCTORAL RESEARCHER IN ECONOMICS for fixed one-year term starting from 1 September 2026. The employment is part-time (50%). In addition, the Yrjö Jahnsson Foundation grants and pays a personal scholarship to those selected for the position. About the post You are tasked with completing your doctoral thesis and your doctoral degree in accordance with the curriculum of your doctoral programme. Your duties may also include teaching and other duties up to 5% of your annual working hours. The employment contract will be subject to a probationary period of six months. In addition, the appointee will be paid a salary component based on personal work performance.
