Job Description DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER SCIENCE Research Assistant Professor in Computer Science (3 vacancies) (23240021) The Department presently offers BSc, MSc, MPhil, and PhD programmes, and is now seeking outstanding applicants for the following positions. The positions are created and funded as part of the strategic research development initiatives in the Department. The appointees will be provided with a conducive research environment, and will work within an established group of faculty in the Department. They are also expected to perform group-based high-impact research and undertake some teaching duties. Applicants should possess a PhD degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, and sufficiently demonstrate abilities to conduct high-quality research in one of the Department's key research areas: (i) Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning; (ii) Big Data and Data Management; (iii) Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition; and (iv) Distributed Systems and Networking. These key research areas have a special thematic focus on (a) Health Informatics and (b) Security and Privacy-aware Computing related applications. Job Description SCHOOL OF CHINESE MEDICINE TEACHING AND RESEARCH DIVISION The School of Chinese Medicine was established in 1999 and offers comprehensive education programmes in Chinese medicine, including both undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes in Chinese Medicine and Pharmacy in Chinese Medicine. The School is engaged in a wide range of research projects, provides Chinese medicine healthcare services to the community, and seeks to foster modernisation of the Chinese medicine profession. To consolidate the strengths of innovative research, the School has established eight high quality theme-based Research Centres equipped with advanced equipment and facilities. The highlighted strategic research areas in the School include (1) Precision medicine and phenomics study; (2) Translational medicine and innovative drug discovery; and (3) Authentication and testing of Chinese medicines. Assistant Professor / Associate Professor / Professor (23241272) The School of Chinese Medicine now invites applications for faculty position at the Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor level. Applicants should possess a PhD in medicinal chemistry/biochemistry/biology/medicine background and research focus on the area are invited to join the School. Excellent interpersonal communication and scientific writing skills are required. Preference will be given to candidates with appealing external grant record, outstanding publication and leading potential of industrialisation for development of prognostic and predictive biomarkers as well as innovative therapeutic intervention. The appointee is also expected to teach chemistry/systems biology/biomedical sciences at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, establish a vigorous and independent research programme in the areas of interest, and lead the school phenome research center to develop interdisciplinary collaborations within and outside the School. This is a tenure-track position with an initial appointment on a fixed-term contract of two to three years. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement. The post holder will join a world-class group of scholars and will make significant contributions to various aspects of teaching on our BSc in International Airline and Airport Management and on our MSc in Air Transport Management, as well as to other teaching and administrative activities within the discipline. All candidates should hold a doctoral degree (or be close to obtaining one) and have experience of teaching relevant modules to a high standard of quality within a business school context.  This role is open to scholars from any field of aviation management, but we especially welcome candidates with an applied as well academic perspective on their work.
