About Higher School of Management and Digital Economy (HSMDE)

The Higher School of Management and Digital Economy (HSMDE) is a public institution, established in 2019, transforming the Preparatory School in Economics, Business and Management Sciences (EPSECG) into its current form. HSMDE is the first institution in Algeria dedicated to higher education in management and the development of the digital economy, aiming to meet the challenges of a globalised economy driven by new technologies.

The school offers a wide range of programmes and highlights their master's degrees in information systems governance, e-banking, e-business, audit and management control and management digital.

The primary goal of HSMDE is to bridge the skills gap in management and the knowledge-based economy, ensuring that graduates are well-prepared to contribute to socioeconomic sectors in Algeria. To support its mission, HSMDE established a research laboratory called LEREN in 2019. LEREN specialises in studying and researching the digital economy, both in general and within the specific context of Algeria. The laboratory is made up of four research teams, each focusing on different areas, such as digital technology and economic growth, digital entrepreneurship, e-commerce and human resources in the context of digital transformation.

HSMDE also promotes international cooperation through partnerships with other institutions, such as the University of Pau and the Adour Region, in South Western France. The collaboration aims to exchange knowledge and ability in management, help student mobility, supply training opportunities for teachers and engage in joint research projects.

Student life at HSMDE is vibrant and stimulating, attracting individuals passionate about technology and innovation. There are many extracurricular activities, including hackathons, programming competitions and workshops, allowing students to develop their skills, network and explore the latest technology trends. Students can also take part in internships, and practical work opportunities are provided to help students gain hands-on experience and to prepare them for careers in the digital technology and the innovation industry.

Joker is a non-profit science club that enhances student life, preparing students for their future careers. The club's missions include developing personal skills, supporting students throughout their academic journey and building an active network of knowledge among students. Joker also encourages personal development, responsibility, creativity and teamwork.

The club also organises events to empower and celebrate women, take part in competitions and conduct workshops and training sessions, while it strives to create a vibrant and inspiring environment for students, promoting innovation and entrepreneurship among its members.
