About CBS Department: The Chemical & Biochemical Sciences Green Process Engineering Department (CBS) is an entity of the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P). The main objective of CBS is to set up a distinctive research-teaching program of international level, to meet the research and teaching challenges of UM6P, in particular on green chemistry applied to all aspects of chemical sciences: organic and inorganic chemistry, analytical chemistry, chemical biology, biochemical and thermal reactions. Research at CBS is organized around several major areas, which aim to answer challenging industrial questions, from complex chemical and biochemical reactions to scale-up and validation of process engineering. CBS projects aim at an in-depth understanding of the molecular mechanisms of all transformations in order to propose new original alternatives in terms of efficiency, environmental friendliness and sustainability. Key Responsibilities Research Activities Develop an independent research program focused on crop nutrition, soil fertility, and plant physiology. Secure research funding by preparing and submitting competitive grant proposals. Contribute to innovation through the development and filing of patents. Disseminate research findings through publication in peer-reviewed journals. Teaching activities Supervise graduate students conducting master's or PhD research in crop nutrition, soil fertility, plant physiology, or related disciplines. Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in agronomy, plant nutrition, and soil science. Develop and update course materials to reflect current research and advancements in the field. Academic and Industry Partnerships Build collaborative relationships with academic colleagues, research centers, and industry stakeholders to support interdisciplinary research in soil fertility, crop nutrition, and plant physiology. Engage with industry partners to ensure research initiatives address practical agricultural challenges, promoting the application and transfer of innovative technologies. Required Qualifications PhD in Agronomy with a focus on Soil Fertility and Crop Physiology. Strong foundation in plant-soil interactions, nutrient management, and crop physiological processes. More than 5 years of experience in research and academic settings (Postdoctoral research, and/or relevant industry or university positions). Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research in soil fertility, crop nutrition, and plant physiology, with a proven track record of publications in peer-reviewed journals. Experience teaching undergraduate or graduate courses in agronomy, soil science, plant physiology, or related fields (including roles as a teaching assistant or course instructor). A commitment to pedagogical innovation and the ability to mentor and engage students through active and research-based learning. It is located in Laayoune City and constitutes a structure of practical-based research with a vision of offering versatile infrastructure for cultivation and conversion of algae based on merging biotechnology, environmental science, and sustainability. Driven by innovation, sustainability, and interdisciplinary collaboration, the center aims to bridge research and practical applications for the development of a large spectrum of applications in agriculture, cosmetical, pharmaceuticals, feed and food industry, bioremediation, climate change mitigation, and renewable energy production. Recover valuable components, metals, and/or materials from industrial and mining wastes/residues Collect samples, propose new ideas and develop innovative processes in the field of waste/residue treatment and valorization. Initiate and develop joint research projects and programs on the valorization of wastes/residues from mining and industrial sites. Conduct analytical measurements, collect research data and data interpretation. Write scientific articles and reports and assisting in the preparation of research proposals and protocols Assist in supervising and training students through different laboratory related activities and develop teaching materials. Education A Ph.D. in Chemistry, chemical engineering, or related field. Requirement PhD in chemistry, chemical engineering, or related field from a recognized University. High publication and research record in leading international and well-ranked journals (at least 4 publications in the last 3 years) the valorization of organic and inorganic wastes and/or residues. Strong experience in teaching and supervising students. Strong English and French communication skills, both verbal and written, are required.
