The successful candidate will contribute to ongoing research projects while developing an independent research program, supervise and mentor students, fellows, and technical staff, and design and execute experiments involving cell culture, molecular and cell biology, biochemistry, immunology and animal models. Additional responsibilities include: Analyzing and presenting experimental data Writing manuscripts and presenting findings at national conferencesDeveloping and implementing laboratory protocols requiring regulatory approvals (IACUC, IRB, and IBC) Assisting with grant applications to funding agencies such as the NIH and private foundations, and Overseeing trainee progress and laboratory performance. The expected rank is Research Instructor; however, final rank and tenure status will be commensurate with the selected candidate's experience. The projected base salary range for this position is $88,000 - $91,000. This is a rare opportunity to shape the academic direction, research culture, and student experience of one of the region’s most established international universities. As the most senior academic on campus, the Deputy Provost will play a central role in delivering the University’s global strategy in the UAE. Reporting to Professor Dame Heather McGregor, Provost and Head of Heriot-Watt Dubai, the role encompasses leadership of teaching, learning, and research; strategic planning; external engagement; and operational oversight.
