Hawler Medical University

Based in the city of Erbil in Iraq, Hawler Medical University is a public university set up by the Council of Ministers of the Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government. It operates under the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Affairs of the Kurdistan Regional Government in Erbil.
The university was established in 2005 to include the medical group colleges that belonged to the University of Salahaddin-Erbil. These were colleges of medicine, dentistry, pharmacy and nursing. However, its oldest constituent part, the college of medicine, was founded in 1977. Since then, it has expanded to include the college of health sciences, the medical research centre and the centre for research and education in women’s health.
Being the first medical group of a university in Iraq, the overall aim of the development of Hawker Medical University was to improve medical education in Kurdistan as well as to have better and more effective management of the colleges. 
Lessons are taught in English and the university has many collaborations with international universities and has established scholarships for international students.
The university emblem includes a series of straight lines that symbolise the citadel of Erbil, while a nail symbolises writing by ancient human beings, referencing the ancient history of the place. It also includes a snake as a symbol of wisdom, healing and medicine and an eagle as a symbol of the determination of the Kurdistan nation. The lines around the citadel are symbols of precision and of communication with history.
The university has a career development centre, which organises regular activities and job fairs.

Job Description:

The Applied Chemistry and Engineering Research center of Excellence (ACER CoE) at UM6P is seeking to appoint a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher possessing a strong academic foundation in catalysis/ separation and chemical/process engineering. The successful candidate will significantly contribute to the conception, synthesis, and evaluation of  separation/catalytic systems aimed at advancing sustainable chemical processes, including but not restricted to carbon dioxide (CO₂) conversion, volatile organic compound (VOC) abatement, and hydrogen production/ storage…... The position requires proficiency in analyzing gas-phase reaction products utilizing gas chromatography and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). Additionally, candidates should demonstrate comprehensive expertise in general material synthesis methodologies.

Candidate Profile:

Hold a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field. Strong experience in separation sciences or  heterogeneous catalysis and/or photocatalysis. Good expertise in the design of adsorption/catalytic reactors. Proficient in analytical techniques for adsorbent. catalyst and product characterization. Knowledge of process modeling software (e.g., Aspen Plus, COMSOL, or equivalent) is a plus. Excellent written and oral communication skills in English. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary and multicultural team.

Skills:

Strong expertise in heterogeneous catalysis/adsorption  fundamentals. Skilled in process modeling software. Proficiency in chromatographic and FTIR analytical techniques. Skilled in analytical methods for catalytic/separation agents  materials characterization. Solid understanding of chemical kinetics principles.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and optimize adsorbent catalytic materials (e.g., heterogeneous catalysts, supported metal catalysts, photocatalysts). Design experimental setups for gas-phase and liquid-phase catalytic reactions. Conduct kinetic and mechanistic studies under realistic process conditions. Perform process simulations and scale-up assessments. Use advanced characterization techniques (XRD, BET, SEM, TPR, GC-MS, etc.). Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and contribute to scientific publications. Support the preparation of funding proposals and technical reports.

Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Advanced Magnetic and Electromagnetic Separation and Speciation of Metallic Minerals

The CBS department of Mohammed VI Polytechnic University is launching a call for applications for a post-doctoral fellowship specializing in magnetic/electromagnetic separation in solid and liquid matrices. Applicants should have a thorough understanding of the principles of magnetic separation and magnetic phenomena, as well as expertise in experimental methods to study the interactions between magnetic fields and solid and liquid materials. Additionally, knowledge of the physical and chemical properties of materials, particularly their magnetism, is required.

The postdoctoral fellow will join the CBS-IGSAC department where they will be responsible for participating in the conduct of a research program on the valorization of phosphate by-products and its derivatives. The focus will be on developing and executing studies on magnetic/electromagnetic techniques for the separation, concentration, recovery, or destruction of certain elements. Therefore, the chosen candidate will be expected to contribute to the performance of a wide range of scale-up studies of a magnetic and electromagnetic separation process to validate the selection of the appropriate design for treating, concentrating, and purifying the matrices under investigation.

Job Description:

The position is open to candidates with a PhD or equivalent in a relevant discipline from a recognized university. Applicants must demonstrate that their doctoral work and previous experience are related to one or more aspects of magnetic separation, particularly in the context of mineral processing or environmental applications. Candidates with the following qualifications are encouraged to apply:


	Experience in the separation/purification of industrial effluents, particularly with electromagnetic/magnetic technologies.
	Proven experience in extracting valuable substances through magnetic separation methods.
	Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Fluency in English is a requirement.


Candidate Criteria:


	A PhD, or equivalent, in applied chemistry, physics, materials science, or a relevant discipline with a focus on magnetic separation of metal(loid)s.
	Strong familiarity with the magnetic properties of metal(loid)s and minerals, demonstrating the capability to separate them from complex matrices.
	Expertise in metal(loid)s speciation and their physicochemical properties.
	Good Background in magnetic and electromagnetic separation techniques and the scale-up process.
	Prior experience in selectively separating metal(loid)s from low-grade ores or by-products.


Planned Activities:


	Conduct scientific research within the project team.
	Train and supervise second- and third-year doctoral students to prepare them for their defense.
	Execute magnetic/electromagnetic separation experiments with precision and accuracy, 
	Utilize advanced methodologies and techniques to effectively separate target components from complex matrices using magnetic field.
	Monitor ongoing experiments and adjust settings as needed.
	Maintain high standards and quality in laboratory operations.


Job Requirements:


	Comprehensive understanding of the principles of magnetic separation.
	Profound knowledge of magnetic phenomena and properties of magnetic materials.
	Previous experience in designing and conducting laboratory experiments to investigate the interactions between magnetic, electromagnetic fields and solid, liquid materials is essential.
	Competence in materials characterization.
	Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to interpret and analyze simulation and/or experiment results.
	Familiarity with safety protocols and quality control measures in the laboratory.

We are seeking a highly motivated and professionally experienced Senior Lecturer in Law to contribute to the development and delivery of our Clinical Legal Education (CLE) portfolio. This includes a contribution to the Solent Law Clinic, which currently provides vital support to members of our local community, and to the expansion of future service areas aligned with regional needs.

We are particularly interested in candidates that demonstrate agility through their ability to deliver across modules relating to the Foundations of Legal Knowledge. About the Role

We are seeking either an inspiring Associate Lecturer or Lecturer in Speech Pathology to deliver engaging, student-centred teaching in speech pathology across all levels and learning modes within the College.
