They should have at least five years of post-qualification teaching experience in higher education and demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively within interdisciplinary teams. Possession of a Fellowship of Advance HE would be advantageous. Those with more experience and higher qualifications may be considered for appointment as Senior Lecturer. Description The Center for Interdisciplinary Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (CIDSAI) at NYU Abu Dhabi seeks to recruit a Research Engineer to support the design and implementation of interactive AI and data science platforms across the Center’s research clusters. The successful candidate will collaborate with researchers and faculty across domains such as Foundations of Data Science, Enabling Technologies, Health, Education and Personalized Learning, and Bias, Ethics & Privacy, contributing to the development of prototypes, interfaces, and software infrastructure that translate research outputs into usable tools. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain web-based and AI-powered platforms supporting CIDSAI research projects. Collaborate with faculty and postdocs on projects such as: Mathematical Collaboration Platform, Personalized Learning Systems and SmartClass AI Tutors, Health-focused conversational AI and multimodal interfaces, Bias detection and fairness-aware tools for ethical AI. Integrate machine learning models, visualization dashboards, and backend services. Contribute to data collection, testing, documentation, and dissemination of open-source resources. Professional Officers are expected to bring a strong healthcare-sector leadership track record, preferably at Assistant Director level or above, with proven experience in managing a business unit, service line, programme office, or multi-disciplinary delivery team. The role requires a hands-on leader who has carried business or KPI targets, generated industry projects through business development and partner engagement, secured funding or other cashable resources, and personally driven project execution to deliver measurable healthcare innovation outcomes, including project completion, value capture, manpower training, ecosystem outreach, and NRF KPI delivery evidence.
