Job Description COLLEGE OF INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION Established in 2000, the College of International Education (CIE) is a self-funded unit of the Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU), offering full-time Associate Degree (AD), Higher Diploma (HD) and Undergraduate (UG) Honours Degree Programmes at the Shek Mun (Shatin) campus. It is a major education providing unit of the School of Continuing Education (SCE), one of the Faculties/Schools of HKBU. CIE currently enrolls over 3,500 students and is committed to the University’s mission of providing quality whole-person higher education with a Christian heritage. English is used as the medium of instruction at the College. Applications are now invited for the following position: Lecturer II / Assistant Lecturer in Chinese Language and Literature (25260671) We are seeking a committed and qualified Lecturer II/Assistant Lecturer to join our academic team.  Responsibilities: Teach courses in Chinese classical literature and related cultural studies; Contribute to curriculum development and academic program enhancement; Engage in student mentoring and academic advising; and Support departmental activities and institutional initiatives.  Requirements: Recognised bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Chinese Language and Literature (PhD preferred); Proven teaching experience at tertiary level; Ability to deliver lectures in Cantonese, particularly in the areas of Chinese classical literature and/or culture; and Proficiency in English and Putonghua for communication. Applicants must show dedication and strong commitment in teaching and education within and beyond the classroom. They must also be a good team player with excellent communication skills. Candidates with less experience will be considered for the post of Assistant Lecturer. Reference salary range:  Lecturer II : HK$38,000 - HK$53,000 Assistant Lecturer : HK$30,000 - HK$39,000 The appointee will work at the Shek Mun (Shatin) campus. The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract ending in August 2027. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement. Job Purpose The Professional Officers Division (POD) houses a centralized pool of academic staff under the Professional Officers scheme. Professional Officers come with specialised and deep technical skills acquired through extensive industry experience. They form the talent pool which brings a much-needed industry perspective to student learning. They facilitate applied learning and applied research in SIT, complementing the academic expertise of the faculty to bring industry practices and applications into the curriculum. Professional Officers leverage on their industry experiences to create authentic learning environments, where discovery and innovation take place. They act as coaches and mentors to students during practical learning activities such as laboratory sessions, Capstone Projects and the Integrated Work Study Programme (IWSP). Professional Officers could also lead or work with faculty on industry innovation projects to provide solutions to the industry. In addition to their role in applied learning and applied research, Professional Officers manage the centralised laboratory facilities and resources in SIT. With Technical Officers, laboratory safety professionals, and administrators in POD, they jointly develop central policies and processes for the safe and seamless operation of laboratories in SIT. Key Responsibilities Design and teach labs & practice modules. Mentor students in Capstone Projects and the Integrated Work Study Programme (IWSP). Lead or co-lead innovation projects with industry. Manage labs and equipment to support academic programmes and applied research. Ensure safety in labs Job Requirements A Master’s degree in Radiography or related field. Possessing a PhD will be an added advantage. Deep technical specialist with 10 or more years of working experience in the acute / community / other clinical rehabilitation setting. Possess clinical experience and competence in Radiography. Having expertise in general radiography or other area of specialization (e.g., MRI, CT, Ultrasound, Angiography and Fluoroscopy) is preferred. Knowledge and experience in working with simulated healthcare institution and community environment and educational manikins will be advantageous. Extensive experience and knowledge of industry practices to bring industry perspective to SIT.  Keen interest in innovation projects, with demonstrated ability in developing solutions to technical problems. Strong supervisory skills and enjoy working closely with students in an educational environment. Demonstrate proficiency to keep abreast of development in the field and pursue professional certification programs. Possess industrial certifications in relevant areas will be an added advantage.

Role Overview We are looking for a motivated Material Science and Engineering Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will lead the development and testing of materials for various applications, contributing to innovative projects that drive our mission forward. This involves researching, developing, testing, and processing materials like metals, plastics, and ceramics to improve product performance. You will lead and apply best practices in materials science and engineering. Key responsibilities include analysing material structures at the atomic level, conducting failure analysis, selecting materials for new products, and optimizing manufacturing processes Responsibilities R&D: Lead material selection, development, and characterization for applications in electronics, aerospace, or biomedical devices; evaluate and integrate new analytical instrumentation. Testing & Characterization: Design and execute experiments to evaluate mechanical, thermal, and chemical properties; analyze data to inform design decisions. Failure Analysis: Root-cause investigation of material failures; recommend and validate corrective actions. Process Development: Optimize manufacturing processes (e.g., casting, coating); qualify and collaborate with suppliers with minimal supervision.
