B1 Grundstufe (praedoc) Reference no.: 5428 Our group covers different topics in theoretical chemistry, from the use of advanced electronic structure methods to the development of dynamical approaches to study photochemical reactions, also including machine learning. The group is part of the Cluster of Excellence “MECS- Materials for Energy Conversion and Storage” and the Sonderforschungsbereich TRR234 “CataLight- Light-driven Molecular Catalysts in Hierarchically Structured Materials”, benefiting from many experimental and theoretical collaborations. Your personal sphere of play: The position is at the Institute of Theoretical Chemistry at the Faculty of Chemistry. You will develop excited-state dynamics methods to improve quantum mechanical effects in trajectory-based simulations. The new method will be applied to systems including light atoms, for example hydrogen and proton transfer reactions. The employment duration is 3 years. Initially limited to 1.5 years, the employment relationship is automatically extended to 3 years if the employer does not terminate it within the first 12 months by submitting a declaration of non-extension. With appropriate work progress, an extension to a total maximum of 4 years is possible. Your future tasks: You actively participate in research, teaching & administration, which means: You are involved in research related to electronic structure theory and non-adiabatic dynamics You will carry out independent computational work, including method development, data analysis and preparation of results for publication. You are expected to sign a doctoral thesis agreement within 12 months. You engage in teaching (independently and/or in a team) within the scope of the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement. You may occasionally be involved in the organization of meetings, conferences and symposiums. You take on administrative tasks in research, teaching and administration. It offers seven degree programmes, including Accountancy, Aviation Management, Communication and Digital Media, Hospitality and Tourism Management, Integrated Studies in Business and Info-Comm, as well as two Food Business Management programmes offered in partnership with our overseas university partner, the Culinary Institute of America. This collection of business-related programmes provides a rich platform for the cross-fertilisation of ideas among faculty and students. The faculty comprises academically qualified staff with doctoral degrees, alongside seasoned industry practitioners who hold professional and postgraduate qualifications. Faculty Openings in the Accountancy Programme The Bachelor of Business (Honours) in Accountancy was one of the first three programmes conferred by SIT. The programme is accredited by Singapore’s national accountancy body, the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA), as well as several leading global accountancy professional bodies, including the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), CPA Australia, Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ), the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). Uniquely, the programme is also recognised under the University Affiliation Programme by the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Institute. This three-year direct honours degree was developed through extensive consultations with industry leaders and accreditation bodies. Learners may choose to specialise in one of five accountancy domains: Applied Finance, Audit, Corporate Accounting, Management Accounting, and Taxation. We currently have positions available at all levels from Assistant Professor to Full Professor in the area of Financial Accounting (Sustainability Reporting and Carbon Accounting). Successful candidates will join the BCD Cluster as part of a faculty team comprising accomplished experts who are passionate about higher education and actively engaged in driving industry transformation through applied research. Faculty members may undertake funded, industry-relevant research and are expected to teach courses within the Accountancy Programme, with opportunities to contribute to other programmes within the BCD Cluster. We are seeking highly motivated post-doctoral researchers of high calibre to join our research program working in the area of electronic textiles. The role is suited to candidates from either academia or industry, with experience of both is an advantage. The position is funded by the EPSRC (Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council) project: SUSTAIN - Sustainable heterogenoUs e-textileS for impercepTible humAn INterfaces. SUSTAIN will tackle fundamental challenges across electronic textile-based sensing, wireless, electrochemical and design technologies with a focus on sustainable developments towards practical user-centric e-textile systems. This position is located within WP4 relating to E-textiles and garment design working under the supervision and direction of WP4 lead Dr Marie O’Mahony. You will be based in the Winchester School of Art (WSA) and join an interdisciplinary University of Southampton research team from across Winchester School of Art and the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences and work with collaborators at the University of Glasgow. To be successful with your application, you will need to demonstrate:  A PhD or equivalent in an appropriate area related the role. A strong background in knit for E-textiles/Wearables with an understanding or experience of commercialisation desirable. Over 3 years’ experience in using Shima Seiki knitting equipment including excellent programming skills. Knowledge and experience in fibres, yarns, and textiles. A willingness and ability to support the MSc and PhD students. Excellent communication and organisational skills including writing, workshop and events, and a proven ability to work well within multidisciplinary teams. The Department of Electronics and Nanoengineering at Aalto University School of Electrical Engineering invites applications for a tenure-track professor position in Digital Integrated Circuits and Systems Design. The position may be filled at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. We are looking for highly qualified academic candidates in the broad area of digital integrated circuit and system design. Relevant research focus areas include, but are not limited to, hardware accelerators for machine learning (ML), Artificial Intelligence (AI), neuromorphic computing, and digital signal processing; microprocessor technologies; hardware systems for signal processing; novel computer architecture implementations; Compute-in-Memory circuits, and digital system-on-chips (SoC) implementations.
