In keeping with its conservatoire status, the School’s philosophy is centred on performance and reflects the unique cultural mix of Hong Kong, with emphasis on both Western and Chinese traditions. The School comprises the Departments of Strings, Keyboard, Voice, Woodwind/Brass/Percussion (‘WBP’), Composition, Chinese Music, Academic Studies and Junior Music. The Senior Lecturer (Creative Music Entrepreneurship) plays a key role in advancing teaching, research, and curriculum development in creative music entrepreneurship, cultural leadership, and professional practice. The appointee will help prepare students for diverse and evolving artistic careers by integrating artistic excellence with entrepreneurial thinking, interdisciplinary collaboration, and engagement with the wider cultural and creative industries. The appointee will report to the Head of the Academic Studies in Music and work closely with programme leaders and colleagues across the School. Applicants should have: (a)  A recognised degree or equivalent qualification (preferably a doctoral degree) in Music, Arts Management, Cultural Leadership, Creative Industries, or a related discipline; (b)  A strong professional background and substantial experience in creative music entrepreneurship, cultural leadership, creative industries, or related areas of professional practice; (c)  Normally, a minimum of six years’ experience in teaching entrepreneurship, leadership, or contextual studies at tertiary or conservatoire level; (d)  A strong professional network within the creative industries, cultural sector, or artistic entrepreneurship landscape, ideally with international reach; (e)  A proven record of teaching excellence across undergraduate and/or postgraduate programmes; experience with pre-college music education is an advantage; (f)  Experience in curriculum design, programme development, and the implementation of innovative pedagogical approaches aligned with contemporary developments in the music and creative sectors; (g) Solid experience in collaborative work across disciplines and cultures, with the ability to contribute to School-wide initiatives and cross-departmental projects; (h)  Experience supervising undergraduate and postgraduate independent studies, portfolio projects, research assignments, and creative or professional-practice outputs; (i)  Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills; and (j)  An excellent command of both written and spoken English. Fluency in Chinese (including Putonghua and Cantonese) is an advantage. TERMS OF APPOINTMENT Appointment will be on a two-year renewable contract, subject to performance and mutual agreement. A gratuity payment up to 15% of the total basic salary earned during the contract period, may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the full contract. The amount of gratuity payable will be the sum which, when added to the Academy’s contribution to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, equals 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period. Fringe benefits include leave, medical, and dental benefits. The starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. A non-accountable Cash Allowance may be provided to the eligible appointee. The expected commencement date will be 1 September 2026. The Faculty of Medicine at the University of Helsinki invites applications for the position of a part-time (35%)  ASSISTANT PROFESSOR / ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR / PROFESSOR  The field of the position is medical genetics and the language of instruction is Swedish. The position may be filled as assistant professor, associate professor or professor depending on the candidates’ merits and career stage. The professorship in medical genetics is associated with a research director’s position at Folkhälsan Research Centre. Applicants must submit separate applications for the professorship and the research director’s position. An appointee to the position of assistant professor in the tenure track system shall hold a doctoral degree, have the ability to conduct independent scholarly work and have the teaching skills necessary for the position. In addition, applicants for assistant professorships shall demonstrate their ability and motivation for an academic career through publications and other means. When considering applicants’ qualifications, account shall be taken not only of their research work and teaching qualifications, but also of their success in obtaining external research funding, international research experience and other international experience. An appointee to a professorship shall hold a doctoral degree and have top-level scholarly qualifications, experience in the supervision of scientific research, as well as the ability to provide toplevel research-based teaching and to supervise theses and dissertations. In addition, the appointee shall present documentation of international cooperation in the field of research that he or she represents. Holders of professorships shall also have the skills necessary for serving as an academic leader. When considering the applicant’s qualifications, attention shall be given to scientific publications and other research results of scientific value, teaching experience and pedagogical training, the ability to produce teaching material, other teaching merits and, if necessary, a demonstration of teaching skills as well as the applicant’s participation in doctoral education. Account shall also be taken of the applicant’s activity in the scientific community, success in obtaining external research funding, international research experience and international elected positions as well as leadership and interaction skills. To ensure that the applicant’s ability to supervise theses and dissertations meets the requirements of the Faculty of Medicine, he or she must have completed the supervision of at least one doctoral dissertation. The requirement for a supervised dissertation must be met by the end of the application deadline. The person performing the university's teaching and research position is required to master the language in which he or she must provide teaching. Successful completion of the task also requires good English language skills. When the language of instruction is Swedish, the language proficiency recommended for successfully attending to the duties of the position corresponds with level C2of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. At the faculty’s discretion, level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages may be accepted as a minimum Swedish language proficiency requirement. Call for Proposals: Two Postdoctoral Positions in Quantum Technology The Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture has announced additional support for national doctoral education pilot in quantum technology (QDOC) aimed at postdoc recruitments. The focus is on supporting the training and supervision of the 90 doctoral students who are currently enrolled under QDOC across Finland. QDOC team invites applications for two postdoctoral positions that combines research with the development and delivery of a course or training module aimed at QDOC students nationally. The duration for each position is one year, with the possibility of extension for an additional year. While the positions are formally hosted at Aalto University, the employee may, at their own discretion, pursue a visitor agreement with a QDOC host university, subject to agreement by Aalto University and the host university of the visit. One position as a research technician (level 3) or senior research technician (level 4) is available in Dr Hans Michael Haitchi’s group in Respiratory Research, Clinical & Experimental Sciences (CES), Faculty of Medicine, University of Southampton (UoS). The group is studying the Preclinical efficacy and safety of ADAM33 oligonucleotides as new disease-modifying asthma therapy in pre-clinical murine and human models as part of a Medical Research Council – Developmental Pathway Funding Scheme (MRC-DPFS) grant in 2023 in collaboration with Professor Jonathan K Watts from the RNA Therapeutics Institute at the University of Massachusetts, USA. We hope to move a compound forward toward Investigational New Drug (IND)-enabling studies and clinical development for severe asthma. Dr Haitchi’s group studies asthma and in particular the role of the asthma gene ADAM33 in development of asthma using in vivo and in vitro asthma research models. The posts will be full-time for up to 10 months, funded by a MRC-DPFS grant. Candidates must hold or nearing completion of a relevant MSc or PhD qualification (or equivalent). A background in respiratory research with experience in, molecular biology techniques is essential, microscopy and image analysis and animal models is desirable. We especially welcome applications from enthusiastic candidates with prior knowledge of a broad variety of laboratory research methods and human and/or mouse in vivo and ex vivo respiratory disease research models with a keen interest and willingness to learn new research methods as part of a research team in the UK and USA.
