Hamad Bin Khalifa University

Founded in 2010, in Doha’s Education City, Hamid Bin Khalifa University was named after the former emir of Qatar. Its main building is a Middle Eastern take on a medieval castle, complete with crenellated turrets. 
There are seven academic departments, known as colleges: Islamic studies; humanities and social sciences; science and engineering; law; health and life sciences; public policy; and economics and management. 
Student housing has vast atriums, fake waterfalls and sweeping staircases. There are also laundry rooms. Single and double accommodation units include a kitchenette and TV; bed linen is provided. IT support is also available.
The Education City student centre provides opportunities for extracurricular activities, including societies, service learning and leadership development. There are also 13 sports clubs, including padel, table tennis, chess and equestrianism. The annual Student Life Awards recognises students who have made noteworthy contributions to the university outside academia – including participation in the arts, sports and community service.

We are searching for talented computer programmers to serve as part-time research assistants (RAs). The RAs will help us to improve an existing Python code base for creating 3D models of ancient artifacts from large datasets of 2D images. The main qualifications are prior experience working on large coding projects and an ability to independently complete tasks efficiently. An interest in computer graphics and vision is also helpful. This project works on scans of archaeological artifacts, ancient objects used by past humans, so an interest in the past is also helpful. These positions are open to anyone, both students at any level or those who have already graduated.

The Faculty of Dentistry is the only dental school in Hong Kong, China and the only one in China that uses English as the medium of instruction. They should also have: (i) proven evidence of quality research, publications in high quality international journals, and local and regional recognition for scholarship and professional expertise; (ii) demonstrated ability in undergraduate and postgraduate education, clinical practice and research; (iii) demonstrated participation in Faculty and University affairs; and (iv) demonstrated ability in knowledge exchange (KE) activities, and leadership in professional education programmes or community engagement.

For appointment as Clinical Assistant Professor, applicants should possess a dental or medical Bachelor's degree or equivalent, and a Master of Dental Surgery degree or equivalent in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology. They should also have (i) ability in undergraduate and postgraduate clinical teaching and practice; (ii) potential for and interest in research; (iii) ability and willingness to participate in Faculty affairs; and (iv) active participation in KE activities.

Possession of good administrative and academic leadership skills will be an advantage. Interest in artificial intelligence (AI) and big data applications in dentistry is a great merit.

The appointee will be responsible for providing clinical training to dental undergraduates, teaching taught postgraduates, supervising research postgraduates, providing consultative service, and conducting research in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology.

About the opportunity

At the University of Sydney Susan Wakil School of Nursing and Midwifery (Sydney Nursing School)we integrate teaching, research, and scholarship with practice and policy development, while fostering engagement with all health professions.

We are seeking two Research Fellows (Health Services Researchers) to support Professor Melissa Baysari in a programme of research funded by an NHMRC Investigator Grant. The research will focus on safety of the new Electronic Health Record (EHR) system being rolled out across hospitals in NSW.

As a Research Fellow, you will play a key role in establishing and delivering this research program, working closely with healthcare services, policymakers and multidisciplinary researchers. Your work will focus on evaluating the implementation of the EHR with a particular emphasis on patient and staff safety, safe transition to a new system, management of system upgrades and downtime events, clinical decision support, and the broader impact of this technology on healthcare delivery.

This is a research-focused position providing an exciting opportunity to contribute to one of Australia's most significant health system transformation programs. We welcome applications from Health Services Researchers with experience or a strong interest in patient safety, digital health, human factors, health informatics, healthcare systems, or related disciplines. Research experience relating to electronic health records, digital systems, or large-scale healthcare change initiatives will be highly regarded.

About you


	a PhD in health services research, human factors, health informatics, public health, psychology, implementation science, nursing, pharmacy, or a related discipline

	knowledge of, or experience working with, electronic health records or other digital health technologies is highly desirable
	strong quantitative, qualitative or mixed-methods research skills
